In a new social media post, the former The O.C. star shows off her amazing body in a bathing suit in a video compilation from her recent trip. \u201cOur Mallorca Minute,\u201d she captioned the Instagram video. How does the star, 43, approach health and wellness? Here are her top diet and fitness habits.<\/p>\n<p>Dancing is Rachel\u2019s favorite workout. She jokes that since becoming a mom, her workout \u201cconsists of having dance parties with my daughter. Anyway to get moving I\u2019ll take,\u201d she recently told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/mind-body\/rachel-bilson-mantra-video\" target=\"_blank\">Health<\/a>. Dancing is an excellent workout for many reasons. It builds strength and promotes flexibility, helps you lose weight, and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ajpmonline.org\/article\/S0749-3797(16)00030-1\/fulltext\" target=\"_blank\">American Journal of Preventive Medicine <\/a>determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop or die from heart disease than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe really try to be creative and healthy in my household. We\u2019re big fans of incorporating plant-based things into our <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/937586\/parade\/life-quotes\/\" target=\"_blank\">life<\/a>, and <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/planetoat\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\">Planet Oat Milk<\/a> has made that so easy. We love doing breakfast experiments with Planet Oat,\u201d Bilson told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/1233324\/kelli_acciardo\/rachel-bilson-diet\/\" target=\"_blank\">Parade<\/a>. She tries to keep dairy to a minimum. \u201cIt really helped my daughter\u2019s skin clear up. She was having some eczema, and when we stopped dairy, it went away. So, that was a huge eye-opener for us just seeing how much your diet can basically control things that are happening with your body.\u201d She added to Health that her daughter loves a lot of the same foods as she does. \u201cI\u2019m lucky that my daughter\u2019s palette is pretty advanced. She loves sushi and edamame and everything like that. Avocado. And we share that love together, and it\u2019s great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rachel has a go-to cheat food. \u201cMy unhealthiest is when I binge on Flamin\u2019 Hot Cheetos, because it happens. I binge. I can admit it. I\u2019ve actually gotten better this year. It got to the point where I was eating them so much that, like, you poop red every day! You\u2019re like, \u201cOK, I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going through my body, but I probably should stop. There are problems,\u201d she told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/celebrities\/rachel-bilsons-got-heart\" target=\"_blank\">Health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Rachel is all about self-care. \u201cPersonally, it\u2019s being able to take a bath at night after my daughter has gone to sleep and having that moment for myself,\u201d she told Health. How can baths do good for your body and mind? They have been linked to better sleep and have even been found helpful in minimizing anxiety and depression. One recent <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eurekalert.org\/news-releases\/569010\" target=\"_blank\">study <\/a>even found that they may boast cardiovascular benefits.\u00a0 According to Loughborough University research published in the journal <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/full\/10.1080\/23328940.2017.1288688\" target=\"_blank\">Temperature<\/a>, relaxing in a hot bath can burn as many calories as a 30-minute walk, about 140 calories.<\/p>\n<p>Rachel revealed to Forbes that she is a fan of outdoor activities. \u201cFor exercise, we walk everywhere and try to ride our bikes. I\u2019m a big fan of doing active things.
