Leeds United are hoping to secure the signing of Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was confirmed that Leeds were close to signing Longstaff<\/a> from Newcastle, as the midfielder has been on the 49ers\u2019<\/a> radar.<\/p>\n

Daniel Farke<\/a> and co aren\u2019t messing about with this deal as Leeds tabled a third bid of \u00a312m<\/a> for the midfielder.<\/p>\n

However, Eddie Howe\u2019s side have since rejected Leeds\u2019<\/a> proposal, which has led to the overall transfer being thrown into doubt.<\/p>\n

Despite Longstaff potentially joining \u2018before the weekend\u2019<\/a>, there might even be suggestions that this deal is off, but an exclusive reveal might suggest otherwise.<\/p>\n

Adding Premier League<\/a>-experienced players is key to what the 49ers want to do, and Longstaff<\/a> certainly ticks that box.<\/p>\n

The midfielder has been an integral component under Howe, but it appears as though they want the 27-year-old to move on.<\/p>\n

They aren\u2019t making this easy for Leeds though, after yet another bid was dismissed, and to make matters worse, Newcastle are now going for target Jack Rudoni<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s frustrating for Leeds, who seemingly looked nailed on to sign the Newcastle star, as there are concerns the deal might have collapsed completely, and Leeds are \u2018considering\u2019 their options.<\/p>\n

Well, speaking exclusively to LeedsUnited.News<\/strong>, our transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, has claimed that this saga might not be over just yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think they will [bid again],\u201d Bailey said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeeds are threatening to go elsewhere. I don\u2019t think a deal is a million miles away. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes sense with a deal so close, we aren\u2019t talking \u00a35m-\u00a310m away. It\u2019s ongoing, that one.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cut-off fee Leeds should have for Sean Longstaff <\/p>\n

If, as our sources state that Leeds table a fourth bid, it should be their last attempt for Longstaff.<\/p>\n

With it looking likely he would already be at Thorp Arch<\/a>, the Newcastle hierarchy are making this move extremely tricky, but Leeds seem eager to gain his valuable experience in the top flight.<\/p>\n

With this considered though, there has to be a breaking point for the 49ers.<\/p>\n

As Bailey states, a couple more million should get the job done, and Leeds should be looking at \u00a314m-15m as their final offer, and if rejected, James McAtee could be the perfect alternative<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Any more would disregard what the owners are trying to do at the club, as so far the 49ers have worked sustainably and won\u2019t be bullied on an unrealistic price tag for a player.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
