{"id":254110,"date":"2025-07-10T18:08:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T18:08:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/254110\/"},"modified":"2025-07-10T18:08:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T18:08:10","slug":"inoue-akhmadaliev-on-sept-14-in-nagoya-japan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/254110\/","title":{"rendered":"Inoue-Akhmadaliev on Sept. 14 in Nagoya, Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Undisputed junior featherweight champion <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/naoya-inoue-140\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Naoya Inoue<\/a> was always set to face <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/murodjon-akhmadaliev-1134\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Murodjon Akhmadaliev<\/a> on Sept. 14 \u2014 there is no secret there.<br \/>But Thursday in Japan, Ohashi Promotions held a press conference to formally announce Inoue&#8217;s fight against his <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/news\/murodjon-akhmadaliev-stops-luis-castillo-sets-up-inoue-showdown\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">long-waiting WBA mandatory challenger<\/a>, as well as other supporting bouts, which will take place at the newly built Aichi International Arena (IG Arena) in Nagoya.<br \/>In other bouts, WBO bantamweight champion <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/yoshiki-takei-2163\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Yoshiki Takei<\/a> (11-0, 9 KOs) will make his third title defence against mandatory challenger <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/christian-medina-jimenez-3522470\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Christian Medina<\/a> (25-4, 18 KOs), and a WBA strawweight title fight will take place between <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/yuni-takada-3130554\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Yuni Takada<\/a> (16-8-3, 6 KOs) and <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/ryusei-matsumoto-3914337\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Ryusei Matsumoto<\/a> (6-0, 4 KOs).<br \/>This card takes place on a Sunday, the day after two of the sport&#8217;s other top pound-for-pound fighters in <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/saul-alvarez-77\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Canelo Alvarez<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/terence-crawford-98\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Terence Crawford<\/a> battle it out in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>Inoue (30-0, 27 KOs), The Ring&#8217;s No. 2-rated pound-for-pound fighter, took to social media and labelled Akhmadaliev as the toughest opponent of his career, a solid compliment considering he&#8217;s been involved in championship fights for 10 successive years. Akhmadaliev will represent the four-division champion&#8217;s 26th consecutive world title fight. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/news\/naoya-inoue-survives-knockdown-war-with-ramon-cardenas-to-score-8th-round-tko-in-fight-of-the-year-contender\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Inoue is coming off a Fight of the Year contender<\/a> against <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/ramon-cardenas-2982546\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Ramon Cardenas<\/a> in which he was dropped for the second time in a year, only to rally and get a resounding eighth-round stoppage win.<br \/>If Inoue beats Akhmadaliev, and if <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/alan-picasso-romero-1946\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">David Picasso<\/a> is victorious in his July 19 fight against Japanese contender Kyonosuke Kameda, the two <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/news\/naoya-inoue-vs-david-picasso-targeted-japan-vs-mexico-card-dec-27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">are expected to headline<\/a> a Japan vs. Mexico Riyadh Season card on Dec. 27 in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>Akhmadaliev (14-1, 11 KOs) would have gotten the Inoue fight much sooner if he hadn&#8217;t suffered a split-decision defeat to <a href=\"https:\/\/ringmagazine.com\/en\/fighters\/marlon-tapales-833\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"text-ringtv-blue underline\">Marlon Tapales<\/a> in April 2023. <\/p>\n<p>Inoue went on to knock out Tapales eight months later, while Uzbekistan&#8217;s Akhmadaliev strung three straight stoppage wins before sealing a chance to face the Japanese star.<\/p>\n<p>Manouk Akopyan is The Ring&#8217;s lead writer.
