The<strong> City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> continues its commitment to reach new audiences across the West Midlands this month, with an exciting series of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/secretbirmingham.com\/free-things-to-do-birmingham\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretbirmingham.com\/free-things-to-do-birmingham\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_0\" data-category=\"click_internal\">free<\/a>, un-ticketed performances<\/strong> across the city.<\/p>\n<p>After the success of last year\u2019s inaugural <strong>\u2018CBSO in the City\u2019<\/strong> took the orchestra out of the concert hall and into the heart of the community\u2014with over 25 free performances in iconic and everyday locations across Birmingham\u2014the much-anticipated second edition runs from<strong> Wednesday, July 23 to Monday, July 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, music is about connection,\u201d says CBSO Music Director, Kazuki Yamada. \u201cTaking the orchestra outside the concert hall helps us meet people where they are \u2013 and share something powerful, beautiful and unexpected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17948\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2024.08.26-CBSO-in-the-Bullring-Kazuki-Yamada-cr.-Andrew-Fox-17-1-1.jpeg\" alt=\"The CBSO performing in the Bullring, Birmingham.\" width=\"1200\" height=\"783\"  \/>Credit: Andrew Fox <\/p>\n<p>The 2025 programme continues to bring CBSO musicians to unexpected places\u2014from pop-up <strong>performances for commuters at New Street Station<\/strong> to a <strong>space-themed family concert at the Library of Birmingham<\/strong>. You can also catch performances at Ikon Gallery, Black Country Living Museum, West Midlands Metro and more.<\/p>\n<p>From Star Wars to Brahms, each performance is designed to meet audiences where they are\u2014whether in transit, at leisure, or exploring with family\u2014and <strong>showcase the full diversity of the orchestra<\/strong>.
