\n Despite her defeat to Amanda Anisimova, Aryna Sabalenka was in a slightly jovial mood during her post-match press conference.\n <\/p>\n
\n She joked with reporters that she wouldn\u2019t make any headlines this time, like she did after her French Open final defeat earlier this year. On that occasion, she told the press conference that Coco Gauff\u2019s defeat was more to do with her own mistakes than the American playing well.\n <\/p>\n
\n This time, after taking more time to decompress after the match, the world No. 1 said Anisimova was the \u201cbetter player\u201d in the semifinal.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cShe was more brave today, she was playing more aggressive,\u201d she added.\n <\/p>\n
\n Despite putting on a brave face, it was clear the defeat had really hurt Sabalenka as she missed out again on a chance at Wimbledon glory.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cI mean, losing sucks. You always feel like you want to die,\u201d she said.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cEvery time you compete at the tournament and you get to these last stages, you think that you\u2019re getting close to your dream, and you lose the match, and you feel like, OK, this is the end.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Sabalenka also noted two moments when the pair had exchanged words during the match, notably in the second set when Anisimova had celebrated a winner slightly early.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt actually helped me to, you know, keep fighting. I\u2019m like \u2018OK, now I\u2019m gonna show you the tennis\u2019.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cSo I came back because I got really angry in that moment.
