{"id":25524,"date":"2025-04-16T19:17:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T19:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/25524\/"},"modified":"2025-04-16T19:17:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T19:17:08","slug":"spains-volotea-mulls-a319-replacement-options-seeks-a320s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/25524\/","title":{"rendered":"Spain&#8217;s Volotea mulls A319 replacement options, seeks A320s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airlines\/VOO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Volotea<\/a> (V7, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airports\/1604\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barcelona El Prat<\/a>)  is considering the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airlines\/EMB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Embraer<\/a> E2 or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airlines\/AIR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Airbus<\/a> A220 as a replacement type for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/A319100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A319-100<\/a>s, founder and chief executive Carlos Mu\u00f1oz said during the Routes Europe 2025 event in Seville last week.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish LCC operates seventeen A319s with an average age of 20.4 years, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/prosubscription.ch-aviation.com\/fleets-advanced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ch-aviation fleets<\/a> module. <\/p>\n<p>While the airline weighs up its fleet replacement options, it has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for two to six additional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/A320200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A320-200<\/a>s powered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/entities\/CFMI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CFM International<\/a> engines. It aims to dry-lease these aircraft starting in the first quarter of 2026 but will also consider bids with delivery dates in the fourth quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Mu\u00f1oz <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/news\/152169-spains-volotea-seeks-midlife-a320s-for-more-bases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously told ch-aviation<\/a> that Volotea was seeking additional jets to support its plan for opening an additional 10 to 12 bases in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We keep looking for more midlife aircraft because we see lots of opportunities.
