Carolyn Siddall\u2019s pre-recorded video interview was played on Thursday at the trial of a 15-year-old boy accused of murdering Harvey Willgoose, also 15, at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield on February 3.<\/p>\n

Ms Siddall told officers how she became aware of a \u201cstudent disturbance\u201d as the lunch break began.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWhen I turned around there was a boy (the defendant) wearing his school uniform and a thin sort-of waterproof jacket. And, in his right hand, he had a knife which was more black than silver.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cHe had a stance that was sort-of quite open with his arms, and the knife was very visible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Siddall said her colleague Rachel Hobkirk appeared and there were no other students between the two teachers and the teenager.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cHe was waving the knife. But appeared to be saying \u2018I\u2019m not gonna hurt anyone\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I said to him \u2018just put the knife down\u2019. And he waved it more.<\/p>\n

\u201cRachel said \u2018just put the knife down\u2019. And I believe we said that to him several times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about her confrontation with the teenager, Ms Siddall said: \u201cI was not aware of anything he\u2019d done with the knife and he seemed be saying \u2018I\u2019m not going to hurt anyone\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cHe did sort-of look as though he was listening to us. And that I felt there was a possibility that he might actually put it down.\u201d<\/p>\n

The teacher said that \u201chis body language was a bit sort-of jumpy\u201d and he was \u201ca bit sort-of dancing\u201d.<\/p>\n

She said it was \u201cclear to see that it was a knife\u201d as he made no attempt to conceal it.<\/p>\n

Ms Siddall said the defendant\u2019s words gave her and her colleague \u201cthe idea that it was a bit of bravado\u201d.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWe didn\u2019t know, because we had no idea what had happened previously.\u201d<\/p>\n

And she added: \u201cHe didn\u2019t appear at that point to be going to stab either of us.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhilst we thought he might put it down, it was very much in a weapon pose at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Siddall said she then noticed the headteacher, Sean Pender, and assistant headteacher, Morgan Davis.<\/p>\n

The jury has heard how Mr Davis got the knife from the defendant and Mr Pender took him to his office.<\/p>\n

Ms Siddall said she began to move children to a safe place, turned round and saw a student on the floor.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cI opened the doors and could see that there was a lot of blood on the courtyard.\u201d<\/p>\n

The teacher said she radioed for the office to call an ambulance and also asked for a lockdown to be put in place, saying the students \u201cmoved very quickly, very efficiently into the nearest rooms\u201d.<\/p>\n

In another video interview played to the jury, All Saints headteacher Sean Pender described how he put his arm around the defendant and led him to his office after Mr Davis had secured the \u201cdagger-style\u201d knife.<\/p>\n

Mr Pender said: \u201cI remember thinking \u2018he\u2019s got a knife, he\u2019s got a knife, I can see it clearly\u2019, and not what I would call a little pen knife.\u201d<\/p>\n

He told the officers: \u201cThe first words the defendant said to me were \u2018I\u2019m not right in the head\u2019 and immediately afterwards \u2018my mum doesn\u2019t look after me right\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

And he said: \u201cAt some point before we reached my office he said \u2018I\u2019ve stabbed him\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I said \u2018who\u2019 and he said \u2018Harvey\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Pender said the defendant told him about the knife: \u201cI\u2019ve just brought it for my protection \u2018cos I\u2019m scared I\u2019m gonna get jumped on the way home.\u201d<\/p>\n

The headteacher told the officers: \u201cHe never once said \u2018how\u2019s Harvey\u2019, or \u2018I\u2019m sorry\u2019 or anything like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut\u2026 I just thought the realisation I think had kicked in, or the shock of what he\u2019d actually done without fully acknowledging it, if that makes sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

The jury has been shown CCTV footage of Harvey being stabbed in the courtyard.<\/p>\n

The court has heard that the defendant, who cannot be named, has admitted manslaughter but denies murder.<\/p>\n

He has also admitted possession of a knife on school premises.<\/p>\n

Addressing the jury last week, Gul Nawaz Hussain KC, defending, said: \u201c(The defendant) did not set out to kill or seriously hurt anyone.<\/p>\n
