As friends and as allies, we face them together. These challenges know no borders: no fortress can protect us against them this time.\u201d \u00a0He also spoke of the need to tackle \u201cirregular migration across the English Channel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Of course we should be there\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Reform MP hit out at the \u201cEstablishment\u201d for not inviting party leader Nigel Farage or Tice himself to the state banquet, which was also attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with celebrities including Mick Jagger and Elton John. \u201cOf course we should [be there],\u201d said Tice, whose right-wing populist party is currently leading national polls. \u201cWe are a serious part of the political debate and that just can\u2019t be denied.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tice\u2019s interview comes in the week his party touted the defection of former Conservative chairman Jake Berry to Reform UK, the latest high-profile name to jump ship.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/12720703-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6893760\"  \/>Richard Tice also speculated that the monarch may not have read the speech before he delivered it. | Adam Vaughan\/EPA<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to McElvoy after Berry\u2019s defection, Tice said: \u201cI think you\u2019ll see a number of parliamentarian Tories thinking this is pretty clear which way this is going. Equally, most of the parliamentary Tory party are basically closet Lib Dems. That\u2019s the reality. And they\u2019re not really Conservatives.
