“A return to the golden age of samurai cinema.” Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for 11 Rebels<\/strong>, an action movie set in feudal Japan made by veteran action filmmaker Kazuya Shiraishi. After premiering last year at the Tokyo Film Festival and opening Japan last fall, Well Go will release 11 Rebels on VOD in the US starting in June<\/a> this summer. Shiraishi Kazuya directs this action epic where a group of small town cons are drafted to defend a fortress from government forces. Amidst the Boshin War’s brutal conflicts, a motley squad of criminals and samurai undertakes a desperate defense \u2013 their stand triggered by clashing interests of the Shibata clan, the shogunate, and the new government. When the officials who offered them freedom back off their promise, the rebels must fend for themselves. Starring Takayuki Yamada<\/strong>, Taiga Nakano<\/strong>, Riho Sayashi<\/strong>, Ukon Onoe<\/strong>, Takara Sakumoto<\/strong>, and Seiji Chihara<\/strong>. Holy hell – this looks pretty badass! Brutal and epic and intense throughout – tons of fights galore. I hope the 11 bring them down! Worth a look.<\/p>\n

In Kazuya Shiraishi\u2019s action-packed epic, ten convicts are promised freedom in exchange for defending a small town in feudal Japan. Tasked with holding a fortress against encroaching government forces, they fight with the desperation of men with nothing to lose. But when the officials who recruited them renege on their promise, the warriors realize they’ve been used as pawns. Betrayed & outnumbered, they must forge their own fate or die trying. 11 Rebels, also known as \u5341\u4e00\u4eba\u306e\u8cca\u8ecd in Japanese, is directed by Japanese filmmaker Kazuya Shiraishi<\/strong><\/a>, director of many films including The Devil’s Path, Twisted Justice, Dawn of the Felines, Birds Without Names, Sunny, The Blood of Wolves I & II, Sea of Revival, One Night, Lesson in Murder, and Bushido (2024) previously. The screenplay is written by Kazuo Kasahara and Jun’ya Ikegami. Produced by Muneyuki Kii. This first opened in Japan in November 2024 last year.
