Recent data from the Communications Commission sheds light on their subscriber base and potential revenue, especially in light of Magti\u2019s recent tariff increase.<\/p>\n<p>Starting August 1, 2025, Magti will increase the monthly tariff by GEL 3 for 496,168 of its fixed internet users. The change applies to the basic 50 Mbps package, which, according to the Commission, leaves no room for consumers to opt for a more affordable alternative within the provider\u2019s network.<\/p>\n<p>The Communications Commission has called the price hike unjustified, criticizing the absence of lower-tier plans and the lack of consumer choice.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia currently has 1.14 million fixed internet subscribers. According to market share data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Magti holds 46% \u2013 approximately 529,251 subscribers<\/li>\n<li>Silknet holds 32% \u2013 approximately 364,600 subscribers<\/li>\n<li>Skytel has 6%<\/li>\n<li>New networks account for 4%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to the Communications Commission, the regional distribution of fixed internet subscribers is as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Tbilisi \u2013 472,000<\/li>\n<li>Adjara \u2013 119,000<\/li>\n<li>Imereti \u2013 113,000<\/li>\n<li>Kvemo Kartli \u2013 99,000<\/li>\n<li>Kakheti \u2013 67,000<\/li>\n<li>Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti \u2013 63,000<\/li>\n<li>Shida Kartli \u2013 59,000<\/li>\n<li>Samtskhe-Javakheti \u2013 44,000<\/li>\n<li>Mtskheta-Mtianeti \u2013 25,000<\/li>\n<li>Guria \u2013 21,000<\/li>\n<li>Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti \u2013 2,500<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Communications Commission has voiced concerns over the lack of competitive alternatives and rising prices in the fixed internet market, especially in light of Magti&#8217;s pricing model.
