An update has been provided on a fighter who was on the receiving end of one of the scariest knockouts of the year.<\/p>\n

There have been some big knockouts recorded in boxing in 2025 to date, including Dave Allen\u2019s finishing shot against Johnny Fisher<\/a>, and Fabio Wardley\u2019s stoppage against Justis Huni.<\/p>\n

While those two fights may have taken place in the hard-hitting heavyweight division, it was a fight taking place at welterweight which has arguably recorded the most brutal knockout of the year so far.<\/p>\n

In June, unbeaten Brian Norman Jr travelled to Japan to defend his WBO welterweight title against Jin Sasaki at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

Norman claimed a devastating fifth round knockout win<\/a>, with Sasaki\u2019s head bouncing off the canvas and sparking immediate concern from those in attendance.<\/p>\n

It was revealed after the fight that Sasaki had suffered memory loss following the bout, but Norman has now attempted to ease any worries after telling FightHype<\/a> that his rival is now on the road to recovery.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe woke up outside the ring but he lost a month and a half of his memory. He\u2019s cool now, we talked to each other and squared it with him, we\u2019re cool.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The win for Norman took his record to 28-0 with two no contests, 22 of those wins coming by knockout, and has seen him now become one of the most talked about fighters in the sport.<\/p>\n
