\n The Colchester Institute student is one of seven\u00a0Brits taking part at the\u00a0Europe and Africa Youth Waterski\u00a0Championships.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

\n They are among 123 athletes from 22 countries who will be going for gold.\n<\/p>\n

\n Under 14s<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n Lara Cosgrove (11) of Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire (Just left Berkhamsted Prep and is starting at Berkhamsted Girls\u2019 School, Hertfordshire in September).\n<\/p>\n \n Isabel Cosgrove (13) of Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire (Berkhamsted Girls\u2019 School, Hertfordshire).\n<\/p>\n \n Buddy Carrington (12), of Brotherton, West Yorkshire (Sherburn High School, Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire).\n<\/p>\n \n Under\u00a017s<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n Harley Coster (15) of Camberley, Surrey (Collingwood College, Camberley).\n<\/p>\n \n Seb Turp (16) of Gosfield,\u00a0Essex\u00a0(Colchester Institute, Colchester).\n<\/p>\n \n Charlie Fearn (15) of Sheffield, South Yorkshire (Bradfield School, Sheffield).\n<\/p>\n \n Willow Skipsey (15) of Chichester, West Sussex (Just left Chichester Free School and is starting at Chichester College in September).\n<\/p>\n \n Water-skiers compete in the three separate disciplines of slalom, tricks and jump, and the combined scores in each contributing\u00a0to an overall score.\n<\/p>\n \n At last years championships, Seb made the finals in the three events of slalom, tricks and jump, recording personal bests in all three.\n<\/p>\n \n He finished in eighth place overall.\n<\/p>\n \n Seb has represented the nation at this level on multiple occasions with last year being his best performance to date.\n<\/p>\n \n He comes from a long line of water-skiers,\u00a0including\u00a0his parents, grandparents and other relatives.\n<\/p>\n \n Dad, Vince, is an international boat driver for waterski competitions.\n<\/p>\n \n Seb trains at the family\u2019s base, at Gosfield Lake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Seb Turp, 16, of\u00a0Gosfield will go for gold in the under-17 category in\u00a0Botaski,\u00a0Sese\u00f1a, near Madrid,\u00a0Spain next week.
