Lamont Roach<\/a> Jr has spoken out after news of Gervonta Davis<\/a>\u2018 most recent arrest.<\/p>\n

It was reported today that Davis was arrested in Florida on the morning of Friday, July 11 for allegedly assaulting his ex-partner outside her home on June 15.<\/a> \u2018Tank\u2019 is still on a period of probation from a previous hit-and-run incident.<\/p>\n

This latest development on the personal life of Davis throws into doubt his boxing future, which was set to continue with a rematch against Roach after their controversial first meeting in March of this year.<\/p>\n

Roach, a big betting underdog, put in a stellar performance, trading with \u2018Tank\u2019 in an attempt to win his WBA Lightweight World Title. The champion took a knee in the ninth round but was not given a count by the referee. If he was, and the cards remained the same for the other rounds, Roach would have won a decision rather than the majority draw result that saw Davis retain his belt.<\/p>\n

Their highly-anticipated rematch had been pencilled in for August 16 but was lacking an official announcement<\/a>, leading many in the sport to speculate that it would either be pushed or canned entirely.<\/p>\n

Roach took to X<\/a> after news of his rival\u2019s arrest. First, he posted the message, \u201cwhat I tell y\u2019all?\u201d alongside a video clip accusing Davis of being scared. He former super-featherweight world champion then followed up with:<\/p>\n
