It will live both inside and outside the venue in Millennium Square and will look back at the evolution of the site, the city, and science itself – while also dreaming about what comes next.

Since opening in 2000, more than 6.6 million people have visited the centre, originally known as Explore At-Bristol. We The Curious is now hoping at least some of those visitors will dig through their phones, albums and memories to help chart the past quarter century – and beyond.

Whether it was meeting their future spouse in the café, being inspired by a school trip, or watching the Canon’s Marsh warehouses come down in 1988 to make way for the new development, organisers say every story matters.

Chief executive Donna Speed said: “This month we celebrate 25 years of curiosity, and one year since we reopened. It feels like the perfect time to celebrate our place in the city, alongside everyone who has been a part of our journey. And there’s a lot of us: almost seven million have been through our doors.

“We The Curious is more than just a building; it’s a space that reflects and is shaped by the people who use it and their curiosity, so it’s really important that the Curious Timeline is as much about Bristol and its people as it is about us. We can’t tell our story without yours.

“The last 25 years have seen huge change – in the city centre, in science and curiosity, and in how we connect with each other. We hope the Curious Timeline will be a playful, powerful, living celebration of what happens when curiosity belongs to everyone, and we can’t wait to see what memories and moments come through.”

The centre is working with local artists from the Artists Network to create various elements for the timeline through a series of commissioned briefs. Those wishing to contribute can submit their stories, videos or images through the We The Curious website or in person.

To mark the 25th anniversary, We The Curious is also offering 25% off ticket bookings made until 22 July – valid for visits between 23 July and 1 September.

Read all the latest news from in and around Bristol.

A once-crumbling warehouse on Bristol’s harbourside that transformed into a hub of curiosity and creativity is celebrating a…

[8818
381,33581,748,393,4884,12893,16,15
0":"post-256889","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-bristol","8":"tag-bristol","9":"tag-bristol-post","10":"tag-britain","11":"tag-england","12":"tag-great-britain","13":"tag-inyourarea-community","14":"tag-uk","15":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
