At the time there were a lot of speculations as to why the Princess, whose name appears on the lineup of royals making appearances at the horse racing event, should suddenly pull out.<\/p>\n

In the light of it, we\u2019ve heard many theories as to why this was, from the disturbing \u2013 the claims that Kate\u2019s cancer battle was heavier than any of us could have imagined \u2013 to perfectly understandable ones.<\/a><\/p>\n

Princess Kate\u2019s Health Wasn\u2019t Why She Skipped Ascott <\/p>\n

However, an insider has claimed that her health wasn\u2019t the bulk of her decision to skip Ascot.<\/p>\n

Kate Middleton Reportedly \u201cRecalibrating\u201d Her Entire Work-life Balance In Response To the \u201cForensic Attention\u201d And \u201cCriticism\u201d That Comes With Royal Life<\/p>\n

The toxicity of fame is starting to catch up to Kate, per a well-connected former royal staffer.<\/p>\n

\u201cKate is recalibrating her entire life, her entire work-life<\/a> balance,\u201d the source told The Daily Beast. \u201cWednesday was a wake-up call, not a one-off. She has never found the public appearances, and the forensic attention and criticism that goes with them, at all easy to deal with, and it was just too much this week.\u201d<\/p>\n

They continued: \u201cThe last few years have been horrific; the disgusting things that Harry said about her and William and her family, the relentless speculation about her and William, the queen\u2019s death, the king\u2019s diagnosis which had them both thinking they were going to have to take over and then her own cancer diagnosis and treatment. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s all taken its toll, and if she needs more time to recover, William will fight tooth and nail to see she is given it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Princess Kate Was Over-Exerting Herself <\/p>\n

Another Palace insider waved it off as the Princess<\/a> simply over-exerting herself, and promised that lessons have been learned.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe important thing here is Kate\u2019s recovery,\u201d they explained. \u201cIt was too much, unfortunately, for her to have three appearances in under a week, and the lesson has been learned. Kate will take it much easier for the rest of the year. I\u2019d be surprised if you see her more than three times in the next three months.\u201d<\/p>\n
