Oklahoma City cowboy Taylor Williams lost all goodwill with viewers after choosing bombshell Clarke Carraway over his early-season other half, Olandria Carthen, during Casa Amor shenanigans. America got its chance to make them pay for his sins with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/article\/love-island-usa-recap-season-7-episode-27-32.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">humiliating game of \u201cBurst Your Bubble\u201d<\/a> during the July 3 episode, where Williams and Carraway, individually and as a couple, landed at the bottom of all categories, including \u201cworst boyfriend material,\u201d \u201cleast trustworthy,\u201d and \u201ccouple you\u2019d least want to vacation with.\u201d When it came time to gather around the firepit during Tuesday\u2019s episode, the two knew exactly what to expect, and several days after their elimination, they\u2019re all giggles over Zoom from Fiji. \u201cI did what I came here to do,\u201d Carraway says. \u201cFacts,\u201d Williams adds. \u201cI came in to find a real connection, and I\u2019m leaving with one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zbx0001h3b79bewo0azq@published\" data-word-count=\"29\"><strong>How\u2019s post-villa life?<\/strong><br \/><strong>Taylor Williams:<\/strong> It\u2019s been real good, actually, \u2019cause I got to spend it with Clarke and not alone. That definitely made it easier and, uh, more fun.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg3001u3b79dbti3ikg@published\" data-word-count=\"25\"><strong>Were you surprised about the vote?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW:<\/strong> Hell, naw. I already knew it after the way America voted last time. It was no shocker to me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg3001v3b79ys7cdtmp@published\" data-word-count=\"6\"><strong>Clarke Carraway:<\/strong> Same. I wasn\u2019t shocked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg3001w3b79hki2jfcg@published\" data-word-count=\"68\"><strong>But you had such a strong connection in the villa, especially compared to some of the couples who seemed to be together more as friends. Did that make it feel different?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>Of course, a little, \u2019cause like, damn, like, we had the strongest connection and we\u2019re voted off. But at the end of the day, everything happens for a reason, so we can\u2019t be too mad at it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg3001x3b7985t3t1us@published\" data-word-count=\"52\"><strong>Are there any misconceptions you think the audience had about you as people or as a couple?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW:<\/strong> Olandria and I were there for, what, three and a half weeks? And then I chose Clarke after three days. I know that really upset America, \u2019cause that\u2019s when all the voting changed for me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg3001y3b79d76rf8d8@published\" data-word-count=\"47\"><strong>You and Olandria coupled up really early. When did you get the sense that you weren\u2019t really feeling it?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>At first, I was feeling it. We had a genuine connection. But Clarke gave me a spark I didn\u2019t have with Olandria. It was a whole different feeling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg3001z3b798y0u6r4t@published\" data-word-count=\"105\"><strong>Were you surprised when <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/article\/love-island-usa-recap-season-7-episodes-21-26.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Nic and Olandria walked in together<\/strong><\/a><strong> after their Casa eliminations?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>I wasn\u2019t surprised by it \u2019cause Olandria chose me and Nic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/article\/love-island-recap-season-7-episode-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">day one<\/a> for the kiss. And then throughout the challenges, they would choose each other to kiss. Obviously, they were attracted to each other in some way. When they came back and said they were coupled, I was happy for them. But then they tried to explore that connection and said there was nothing romantically, and Nic went back to Cierra. But now they\u2019re back together, so, you know, maybe there is something there romantically now. I\u2019m all for it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg300203b79w36dxd81@published\" data-word-count=\"40\"><strong>So it didn\u2019t feel weird at all?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>It didn\u2019t feel weird. If we were in the outside world, hell yeah, that shit would\u2019ve felt weird. But in the villa, we done all kissed each other\u2019s girls. That\u2019s just Love Island.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg300213b79v4sqy9xx@published\" data-word-count=\"33\"><strong>Clarke, what was the vibe when Nic and Olandria came back from Casa?<\/strong><br \/><strong>CC: <\/strong>It wasn\u2019t weird to me, but I could tell she was uncomfortable, because this isn\u2019t her normal group of girls.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg300223b79yn7hz8or@published\" data-word-count=\"65\">My Casa experience was a little different, because she came back compared to all the other girls who stayed at Casa. But I didn\u2019t let that stop me. I stayed true to myself. I had a conversation with her. I wanted to make sure she knew I respected her and wanted to go about it in the best way. But I loved my Casa experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg300233b79xrhts9eq@published\" data-word-count=\"52\"><strong>The \u201cBurst Your Bubble\u201d challenge was a big moment for you as a couple. Were you surprised you were ranked so low?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>Not at all. When I chose Clarke, I was like, You know what? I\u2019m finna just surprise the whole villa, and it\u2019s gonna be a surprise to all of America.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg400243b7922mqp9y2@published\" data-word-count=\"28\"><strong>CC: <\/strong>When I saw him at the bottom, I was like, \u201cI\u2019m next.\u201d We both went three for three, and then we got together and did it again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg400253b79oypj58rb@published\" data-word-count=\"60\"><strong>It kind of makes it more romantic, though, because it\u2019s like, No, we chose each other over winning the show.<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW:<\/strong> I definitely could\u2019ve played the long game and stayed to win the show with Olandria and just brought it all the way to the end. But I was here to find a true connection. That\u2019s why I went with Clarke.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg400263b79247yc6gp@published\" data-word-count=\"45\"><strong>So, if you were really playing the game, Olandria would\u2019ve been the safer option?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>I don\u2019t think she saw it that way, really. She was obviously hurt by my choosing Clarke, and she expressed that. I\u2019m not trying to play the long game or whatever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg400273b792peantcb@published\" data-word-count=\"104\"><strong>Did people\u2019s behavior in the villa switch up after you saw how America had voted?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW:<\/strong> Not at all. Everybody was supportive of my decision, and everybody kept telling me they saw why I chose Clarke after they had a conversation with me. For Chelley, Olandria\u2019s best friend, to come up to me and be like, \u201cYou know, I\u2019m happy you chose Clarke\u201d \u2014\u00a0like, she sees that I\u2019m happy and it is a true connection. I could care less what America thought about the situation. They\u2019re not living it with me, and the people who are living it with me see this is something real.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg400293b79qkludgal@published\" data-word-count=\"61\"><strong>You, Nic, and Ace had this really strong friendship. Why do you think the three of you connected so much?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW:<\/strong> Me and Ace had an instant connection. We would just, like, recite movie lines as jokes. When something would happen in the villa, we would peep it, like, Did anybody else see that? Nobody would see it but me and Ace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg4002a3b79dk0j2frq@published\" data-word-count=\"44\">And then, you know, Nic felt left out \u2019cause he was like, \u201cI don\u2019t get y\u2019all movie references.\u201d But Nic fit in with the guys and cracked jokes with us, and we all ended up just locking in. Now we call ourselves Tres Leches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg4002b3b79ic4gdihx@published\" data-word-count=\"62\"><strong>Everyone is joking that Ace is the little ringleader. Did it feel like that inside?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW:<\/strong> No, not at all. Ace is not the little ringleader of it at all. Ace is like the little brother who tries to be big bro. But, you know, I ain\u2019t gonna lie. Ace is creative, so as we needed creativity, we went to Ace for it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg4002d3b79th9k5cq8@published\" data-word-count=\"52\"><strong>What was the craziest moment of the entire villa experience?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW:<\/strong> The fourth-base challenge. It was the first challenge we did, and we went all out for that one. We gave that challenge our all. That was probably the freakiest challenge in Love Island history. We really did our thing on that one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg4002e3b79hzpfntog@published\" data-word-count=\"67\"><strong>As the Islanders have left the show, some have posted that Hurricane Huda was even worse than what was shown on TV. What exactly was going on in there at the time?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>Yeah, Hurricane Huda was damn near taking over the whole of Fiji, you know? When Jeremiah got back from that date with Iris, Hurricane Huda came out. It was a lot. Let\u2019s just say that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg4002g3b79h41btk8c@published\" data-word-count=\"77\"><strong>One big moment a couple of days ago was when they pulled Cierra from the villa. What was that like inside?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW<\/strong>: We were just told that she had to leave. We didn\u2019t get any details about it. We don\u2019t have our phones, so we still don\u2019t know exactly why she left. Mainly it was just everybody trying to be there for Nic. It\u2019s like, Damn, he\u2019s back to day one with a week left in the villa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg4002h3b79tawje0vt@published\" data-word-count=\"101\"><strong>Taylor, another big moment was you, Ace, and Nic voting off Jeremiah. Can you tell me the thought process behind it?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>From day one, we told him, \u201cExplore everybody.\u201d And five minutes in, he did not do that. He locked in on Huda. We kept explaining to him, \u201cBro, explore everyone. Give Huda her space. You don\u2019t have to be around her 24\/7.\u201d And he just wasn\u2019t getting it, you know? He was like, \u201cOh, it\u2019s a mutual feeling. She doesn\u2019t want to explore.\u201d But we\u2019re being told that she wanted to explore. We\u2019re hearing two different sides of the story.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg5002i3b7946kwuj34@published\" data-word-count=\"159\">Then when Andreina came, of course, he and Huda were split up, but he was acting like he was with Huda again, possessive. He was telling us he wanted to talk to her the longest and nobody else got to talk to her. She and I ended up standing next to each other in the kitchen and having a conversation, and he\u2019s walking in front of us, behind us. As soon as we get done with the conversation, he went straight to her. It was a \u201cI don\u2019t want anybody to talk to her, to make a connection with her, she\u2019s mine\u201d type of deal. And we kept telling him,\u00a0\u201cStop doing that, go explore.\u201d Everybody else in the villa was, and he just wasn\u2019t getting it. So when it came down to the decision, we took that into consideration. Everybody else who was in there \u2014\u00a0Pepe, Austin\u00a0\u2014\u00a0they explored every situation and everyone in the villa. And Jeremiah just didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz7zfg5002k3b79kv88jdhg@published\" data-word-count=\"87\"><strong>Why did that bother you so much?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>Because you\u2019re cheating everybody else out of their Love Island experience. The first two and a half weeks, Huda didn\u2019t get the Love Island experience. Then, when she was single, all the OGs in the house weren\u2019t trying to explore with Huda \u2019cause she ruined that day one. Now, all Huda has to explore is bombshells, which sucks, you know? Her choices are limited. The Andreina situation was the same thing. She didn\u2019t get to explore anybody else until Casa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz8wsvq005c3b79yhmqdb3o@published\" data-word-count=\"58\"><strong>What have you learned about yourselves in going on the show?<\/strong><br \/><strong>TW: <\/strong>Something I didn\u2019t do before is talk about my feelings. I was just like, I\u2019ll do it on my own, and then you just bottle that shit up. But on Love Island, you have to talk about your feelings. It got me to learn to do that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmcz8ynmh005i3b79ylg366ly@published\" data-word-count=\"26\"><strong>CC: <\/strong>I learned about staying true to myself and what I\u2019m feeling, even if it\u2019s hard to do so.
