Limp Bizkit<\/a> guitarist Wes Borland<\/a> has put a new spin on Metallica<\/a>\u2019s \u2018Orion\u2019, sharing a snippet with fans on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Borland shared the trippy cover of the 1986 instrumental over the weekend, reworking the classic Metallica track ahead of his band\u2019s upcoming shows with the thrash metal legends<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHorsing around and loopidy loopin with \u2018Orion\u2019 by Metallica this afternoon,\u201d he wrote alongside the video. \u201cAnybody coming out to any of the shows this summer?\u201d<\/p>\n

Borland didn\u2019t confirm whether they\u2019d be covering the track on tour, but many fans appeared to hope so, one commenting that it \u201cwould sound amazing shaking an arena,\u201d another saying, \u201dMy absolute favorite instrumental just got a new paint job,\u201d and one more adding, \u201cI was just thinking about Orion and listened to it on Sunday. Love the reimagining you gave it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Orion\u2019 was included on Metallica\u2019s seminal third album \u2018Master Of Puppets\u2019, and was primarily written by bassist Cliff Burton. Six months after its release, Burton died when the band\u2019s tour bus crashed, and the track was played over speakers during his funeral. Frontman James Hetfield went on to get the notes from the song\u2019s bridge tattooed on his arm.<\/p>\n

Limp Bizkit, who finished their \u2018Loserville\u2019 tour of the UK and Europe<\/a> earlier this month, are set to support Metallica on their \u2018M72\u2019 world tour on dates in Toronto, Nashville, Philadelphia, Tampa, Santa Clara and Denver from April to June, sharing the support slot with Ice Nine Kills<\/a> from April to June.<\/p>\n

Pantera<\/a> and Suicidal Tendencies<\/a> are also joining the tour for the current North America leg, alternating dates with Metallica and Ice Nine Kills. When Metallica head to Australia and New Zealand in November, they\u2019ll be joined by Suicidal Tendencies as well as Evanescence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Limp Bizkit, meanwhile, will be playing at the North Dakota State Fair in July before heading back to the UK in August for Reading & Leeds Festival<\/a>. Vocalist Fred Durst will appear at Black Sabbath\u2019s final-ever live show<\/a> in Birmingham on July 5, too.<\/p>\n

Last November, meanwhile, the band confirmed that they were back in the studio to work on new music. Their last album was 2021\u2019s \u2018Still Sucks\u2019<\/a>, itself their first LP in a decade. In a three-star review, NME described it as a \u201clean and self-aware party-starter of a sixth album\u201d<\/a> and wrote: \u201c\u2018Still Sucks\u2019 doesn\u2019t feel laboured or overthought and never overstays its welcome. Limp Bizkit aren\u2019t out to rewrite their history or reach a new generation. They don\u2019t care if you still think they suck \u2013 they still know how to have a good time, and won\u2019t stop rollin\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
