3<\/p>\n The huge V&A East Storehouse is sprawled over four floorsCredit: PA 3<\/p>\n The lack of walls mean you can see everything while standing in one spotCredit: \u00a9 Bet Bettencourt 3<\/p>\n The Gantry Hotel is a great evening destinationCredit: \u00a9 Ryan Wicks 2021<\/p>\n So much so, it was named the coolest place to visit in London<\/a> by Time Out earlier this year.<\/p>\n And that\u2019s been backed further by the opening of the much anticipated V&A East Storehouse (vam.ac.uk<\/a>) at the end of May.<\/p>\n It is certainly expansive \u2013 spread across four floors, taking up the space of 30 basketball<\/a> courts.<\/p>\n Free to visit, after putting my handbag into one of the many lockers (big bags and bulky coats along with food and drink<\/a> aren\u2019t allowed inside) I was ready to explore.<\/p>\n The museum\u2019s collection is broken down into three \u201cthemes\u201d \u2013 items that have a story, items inspired by the V&A and items that show a working museum.<\/p>\n An element I loved was the lack of walls so you can see everything while standing in one spot \u2013 almost reminding me of an IKEA<\/a> warehouse.<\/p>\n But the variation of items (of which there are 250,000) means there is something for everyone.<\/p>\n Kids will be fascinated by the sword displays, while I loved the items from important protests throughout history<\/a>.<\/p>\n Architecture<\/a> lovers will be taken by the famous Frank Lloyd Wright rooms and there is enough art and memorabilia to keep all types occupied, from motorbikes<\/a> and guitars to magazines and interiors<\/a>.<\/p>\n Yet, it\u2019s a museum made for the modern day \u2013 every piece has a QR code to scan for more information rather than huge signs of text.<\/p>\n Take a look inside London’s Hotel 41 <\/p>\n Later this year it will open the David Bowie<\/a> Centre, an archive dedicated to the six decades of the late singer\u2019s career.<\/p>\n And next spring<\/a> will see the opening of V&A East Museum, a 7,000sqm attraction space with live shows and pop-ups.<\/p>\n But that\u2019s not the only new boost of culture at Stratford.<\/p>\n Following the success of Sadler\u2019s Wells Theatre<\/a> in Islington, the new Sadler\u2019s Wells East (sadlerswells.com<\/a>) has also opened just around the corner from the new V&A.<\/p>\n Huge bowls of pasta<\/p>\n With live dance shows, from flamenco to hip hop, I was left in awe watching Find Your Eyes \u2013 a show created by photographer Benji Reid who used dance alongside his live photography<\/a> on stage.<\/p>\n With my battery running low, I needed some downtime and thankfully just around the corner was the stylish Gantry Hotel.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a great evening destination, where you\u2019ll spot everyone from laptop types in the lobby to after-work drinkers on the terrace.<\/p>\n![\"Person](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/0001-wednesday-28-editorial-use-1008269840.jpg\")
