{"id":258003,"date":"2025-07-12T04:29:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-12T04:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/258003\/"},"modified":"2025-07-12T04:29:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-12T04:29:09","slug":"uk-weather-heatwave-spreads-to-scotland-and-northern-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/258003\/","title":{"rendered":"UK weather: heatwave spreads to Scotland and Northern Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">On Friday, Astwood Bank in the West Midlands recorded the highest temperature of 34.7C.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Amber heat health alerts for southern England, the Midlands, and East Anglia will remain in place until Monday, the UK Health Security Agency said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Less severe yellow warnings remain in place for northern England, while Scotland and Northern Ireland face warnings of wildfires on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Yellow weather alerts are issued during periods that are only likely to affect those who are particularly vulnerable, such as the elderly, and those with existing health conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Amber alerts are issued in situations that could put the whole population at risk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">For the thousands expected to attend the Wimbledon finals this weekend, temperatures in south-west London will remain high on Saturday and are expected to reach 30C, possibly 32C in some areas, according the Met Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Sunday will see a slight dip to 29C in daytime highs, but the heat will remain with a chance of some places around London seeing 30C or above. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"On Friday, Astwood Bank in the West Midlands recorded the highest temperature of 34.7C.
