Sheffield Wednesday winger Djeidi Gassama has reportedly been cleared to join Rangers and become Russell Martin<\/a>‘s seventh summer signing<\/p>\n

Speaking on Friday, the Ibrox boss revealed that he was confident that the Frenchamn would join the Scottish Premiership<\/a> club from the struggling Yorkshire side.<\/p>\n

Record Sport <\/strong>understands that on Friday morning Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri was stalling on the \u00a32.5million sale as he looked to lure in rival bidders.<\/p>\n

The cash-strapped Championship side are desperate to raise funds amid a financial crisis that has left several of their top stars to go without wages for the past two months.<\/p>\n

But The Sheffield Star <\/a>now report that “progress” has now been made and that “the issues are being ironed out” with the player now expected to leave Wednesday for Rangers<\/a> on a four-year deal.<\/p>\n

While the new boss puts the squad through their paces at their St George\u2019s training base, the club are also on the lookout for another striker with both Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane facing uncertain futures.<\/p>\n

Record Sport <\/strong>first revealed <\/a>the Maccabi Tel Aviv man <\/a>Dor Turgeman<\/a> is also on the shortlist of strikers – but they could face a waiting game to land the 21-year-old.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of the Israeli Super Cup final clash with Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Maccabi boss Zarko Lazetic confirmed that Turgeman has been keen on some of the offers.<\/p>\n

However, he has vetoed any departures until after their Champions League qualifiers with Pafos later this month – with the second leg taking place on July 30.<\/p>\n

Asked about Turgeman’s status, Lazetic said: “He has trained excellently. He has offers and is interested in them, they also had injuries.<\/p>\n

“He is happy and is happy to continue here, especially considering the way the previous season ended.<\/p>\n

“There are a lot of challenges ahead of us – Be’er Sheva, the Champions League qualifiers. I want to get started. Departures can wait until after.”<\/p>\n

That could impact on the sales of Igamane and Dessers – with Lille chasing the Morocco cap and AEK showing interest in the last season’s top scorer at Ibrox.<\/p>\n
