Entries opened on Tuesday, July 1, and close on Tuesday, July 22, with winners set to visit the zoo later this year. Full details are available on the Bristol Zoo Project website.

Andy Day, who is an ambassador for the zoo, said: “I’m really excited to see this new trail taking shape at Bristol Zoo Project. We absolutely love making the show and are really proud of it, so to see it come to life in such a unique way, ready for families to explore and enjoy over the summer, is really special.

“I’m a proud ambassador and regular visitor to the zoo with my family. We love seeing all the different animals from around the world, with the giraffes and bears being among our favourites. I’m looking forward to meeting the competition winners so we can go on our own adventure and try out the trail for ourselves!”

The trail, which is set to run until Sunday, November 2, incorporates iconic elements from the TV show, including a chance to ‘shrink down’ like Andy and time-travel with the museum clock.

Rosie Sims, public engagement manager at Bristol Zoo Project, said: “We are all thrilled to be launching the Andy’s Adventures trail and the competition to join him on the trail is already causing quite a buzz at the zoo – we are expecting quite a few entries!

“What makes this trail experience so unique is that it combines themes from the show with stories related to our animals here at Bristol Zoo Project. Through interactive games and activities, we hope to not only inspire families to go on an adventure but also learn more about the different animals living at the zoo and become keen conservationists themselves, like Andy.”

Bristol Zoo Project is home to species such as giraffes, cheetahs, red pandas, zebras, lemurs and baboons. It also features the award-winning Bear Wood, home to brown bears, lynxes, wolverines and wolves.

The zoo, operated by the Bristol Zoological Society, is undergoing a major transformation. Work is currently underway on a new African Forest habitat that will bring together critically endangered western lowland gorillas with cherry-crowned mangabeys, slender-snouted crocodiles, West African freshwater fish and rescued African grey parrots.

Andy’s Adventures is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Read all the latest news from in and around Bristol.

Families are being invited to step into the boots of one of CBeebies’ most beloved explorers this summer,…

[8818
381,33581,748,393,4884,12893,16,15
0":"post-258786","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-bristol","8":"tag-bristol","9":"tag-bristol-post","10":"tag-britain","11":"tag-england","12":"tag-great-britain","13":"tag-inyourarea-community","14":"tag-uk","15":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
