Manchester United have set their sights on former Everton <\/a>forward Moise Kean, who endured a tardy and lacklustre spell at Goodison Park, as they search for a new striker.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim’s<\/a> side are looking to strengthen their forward line<\/a>, which had the fifth-lowest goal tally in the top flight last season. With Viktor Gyokeres<\/a> seemingly heading to rival club Arsenal<\/a>, eyes have had to divert elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Former Juventus player Kean, who started his career with the Italian giants before moving to Marco Silva’s Everton in 2019 for around \u00a330million and then returning via several loan spells, is now playing for Fiorentina and appears to have turned over a new leaf<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kean moved to Florence last summer for just over \u00a315m and proved to be a sensation, netting 25 goals across all competitions, including 19 in Serie A. His current contract includes a \u00a345m release clause, and it seems that the Red Devils are interested<\/a>, despite Kean’s previous attitude issues<\/a> during his time in England.<\/p>\n

According to The Athletic<\/a>, United are considering triggering Kean’s \u00a345m release clause, but they only have until July 15 <\/a>to make a decision, as that’s when the clause expires.<\/p>\n

The club doesn’t appear to be deterred by Kean’s past behaviour. After his \u00a330m move to Everton in 2019, reports emerged that the Italian would often arrive late for team meetings due to oversleeping and deliver lacklustre performances in training, reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kean netted a mere four goals in 39 appearances for the Toffees and was also discovered to have violated lockdown rules in 2020 when he hosted a party at his Cheshire flat. He was subsequently fined two weeks’ wages.<\/p>\n

Speaking last year about his stint in the Premier League<\/a>, Kean also made a confession about the English weather<\/a> that could potentially disrupt a prospective United transfer.<\/p>\n

“I was in England, it was a new environment… they were so used to not seeing the sun, they were barbecuing on the beach in winter,” he stated<\/a>. “They were in short sleeves in winter. I said to myself: ‘These people are out of their minds!’<\/p>\n

“But England made me learn a lot about myself. I matured a lot. When I got there I didn’t play much. I used to think, ‘How am I not getting into this team, at Everton?’<\/p>\n

“Mentally, it made me evolve. I wasn’t playing and it was in dark times that I knew I had to grit my teeth. Then the chance to go to PSG (on loan) came along.<\/p>\n

“I moved there and got everything out of myself that I could. I wasn’t playing at Everton and I knew I had to give triple. That’s how it went.”<\/p>\n

Kean suggested that he has turned a new page since his inexperienced years at Goodison Park, adding: “I was a bit unlucky. I went there expecting to play a bit more. I was 19.<\/p>\n

“I joined from Juve and thought I was going to smash it. Unfortunately, it didn’t go like that. We went through three coaches that year and mentally… it was all new for me. Out of all the experiences I’ve had, you won’t ever hear me say I had a bad one.
