\n Debbie Warburton, who works at Whiston Hospital, received the honour from Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.\n<\/p>\n
\n She was commended for her commitment to maintaining high standards of care, supporting her team and leading by example.\n<\/p>\n
\n Ms Warburton said: “I was genuinely shocked to hear my name announced, but I am incredibly proud.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I have worked at the Trust for over 16 years and I am really grateful that I\u2019ve had such amazing support and opportunities throughout my journey as a nurse.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I work with some amazing colleagues, they motivate and inspire me every day.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I really try and give 100 per cent to make sure the patients and the staff are really well looked after, so this is a lovely recognition to receive this award.”\n<\/p>\n
\n She was also praised for creating a kind, open, and inclusive environment in her ward.\n<\/p>\n
\n The award was presented by actress and Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach.\n<\/p>\n
\n Two other members of staff were shortlisted for the award.\n<\/p>\n
\n Anthony Robinson, a resident doctor at Southport Hospital, was described as “a credit to his profession” and “one of the most empathetic doctors whose kindness and compassion extends beyond his patients.”\n<\/p>\n
