Six people have been arrested and charged on the first day of the TRNSMT <\/a>festival in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Officers from Police Scotland confirmed that the revellers were apprehended in connection with various offences in and around the area of Glasgow Green following the event’s <\/a>opening night <\/a>on Friday.<\/p>\n

The offences included police assault<\/a>, assault, hate crime and outstanding warrants. Reports <\/a>will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.<\/p>\n

A statement from Police Scotland reads: “Six people have been arrested and charged in connection with various offences in and around the area of Glasgow Green following the opening night of a festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The offences included police assault<\/a>, assault, hate crime and outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n

“Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.<\/a>“<\/p>\n

Tens of thousands of ticket holders have descended onto the city centre as the second day of the music event<\/a> gets underway.<\/p>\n

Festival goers will enjoy acts including Biffy Clyro<\/a>, Fontaines D.C and Jake Bugg on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Organisers recently reversed their policy on sun cream after parents of children attending the event hit out at its ‘no aerosol<\/a>‘ rule.<\/p>\n

A festival <\/a>spokesperson said: “In line with our prohibited items list, fans were previously permitted to bring small, travel-sized sunscreen into the festival. Following feedback and in response to the ongoing warm weather, we have updated this guidance.<\/p>\n

“Fans are now allowed \u2013 and encouraged \u2013 to bring sun cream of any size to apply throughout the day<\/a>.
