Everton could now have the perfect opportunity to sign Michael Cooper.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Sheffield United man was one of the standout shot stoppers in the Championship last season despite missing out on promotion.<\/p>\n As a result, there is every chance that the Blades are forced to part ways with some of their better players moving deeper into the summer.<\/p>\n This is where David Moyes<\/a> could step in and complete the signing of the 25-year-old, with a potential boost now arising elsewhere.<\/p>\n The second-tier outfit are now moving into a new season with a new head coach, with Ruben Selles looking to put his stamp on the squad.<\/p>\n Having replaced Chris Wilder ahead of pre-season<\/a>, the former Reading boss has a lot to do to live up to the Englishman\u2019s reputation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n As a result, the Spaniard is set to have a proper look at his squad before making any decisions ahead of a second consecutive year in the Championship.<\/p>\n This will see the 42-year-old hand goalkeeper Ivo Grbic a second chance in between the sticks at Bramall Lane after a disastrous initial spell [Danny Hall<\/a>, 12 July].<\/p>\n Having conceded 32 goals in his first 10 appearances for the Blades, the Croatian was shipped out to Turkish side Rizespor, but now could reclaim a spot in S2.<\/p>\n This could see a departure for Cooper become more likely<\/a>, something which the Toffees could take advantage of in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n With Jordan Pickford<\/a>, the Evertonians are already accustomed to a high level of goalkeeping performance on Merseyside.<\/p>\n With that being said, a long-term option will be required at some stage with the England international now at 31 years old.<\/p>\n Jordan Pickford and Michael Cooper league stats 24\/25<\/p>\n A backup option is also a requirement with both Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic departing Goodison at the end of their contracts<\/a>.<\/p>\n It is fair to say that Cooper could represent an excellent option for the future after many years at a positive level with both Sheffield United and Plymouth Argyle.<\/p>\n![\"David](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/david-moyes-1024x576.png\")
