Former Manchester United<\/a> forward Mason Greenwood<\/a> has sent a message to ex-teammate Anthony Elanga after he completed his move to Newcastle United. The Sweden international made the cross-Premier League switch to the North East for \u00a355million to become Eddie Howe’s first signing of the summer.<\/p>\n The 23-year-old signed a five-year deal and it has been suggested that United included a clause where the club receive 15 per cent of the profits from his next sale. As a result, Ruben Amorim’s side reportedly banked around \u00a36million for Elanga’s move from Nottingham Forest, having made the City Ground switch in 2023.<\/p>\n Elanga shrugged off his disappointment at failing to break into Erik ten Hag’s side to become a key member of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side as they ended their wait to qualify for European football.<\/p>\n After completing his move, the winger took to social media to express his delight and introduce himself to his new supporters.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m a Geordie now,” he said.<\/p>\n “Happy to be here at this great club but more importantly I\u2019m ready. Can\u2019t wait to see you all.<\/p>\n “Let\u2019s get to work! @nufc”<\/p>\n Elanga received a warm welcome from his new teammates with the likes of Alexander Isak and Joelinton commenting but among those was Greenwood<\/a>, who offered his support with a clapping emoji.<\/p>\n In completing his move, Elanga will now be looking to stake his claim to be included in the Magpies’ squad for the forthcoming Champions League<\/a> campaign.<\/p>\n During his first interview with the club, he said: “I’m ready to put on this black and white top to really fight for this team and give everything for the passionate fanbase that lives and breathes football.<\/p>\n “I had an amazing two years at Nottingham Forest, they really helped me to become the player I am today, but I’m really happy to be here now.<\/p>\n “The club won a trophy last season and are building something unique, something special that I really want to be part of.<\/p>\n “I really want to buy into the culture, into the DNA of this club.
