Manchester United<\/a> still have plenty of work to do in the summer transfer window having signed just two players so far.<\/p>\n The Reds activated Matheus Cunha’s \u00a362.5million release clause early last month<\/a>, bringing the Wolves forward to Old Trafford<\/a> on a five-year deal with an option for an extra year. Paraguayan left-back Diego Leon has also joined the club, but may be loaned out.<\/p>\n The Reds are also yet to shift anyone from their squad, despite Marcus Rashford<\/a>, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho deemed surplus to requirements by Amorim. United travel to the Swedish capital of Stockholm to face Leeds on July 19, before their tour of the United States and will be hoping to conclude more transfer business by then.<\/p>\n Below is a look at the latest reports surrounding United’s potential transfer activity with the summer window closing on Monday, September 1 at 7 pm BST.<\/p>\n Mbeumo latest<\/p>\n The Manchester Evening News understands United submitted a revised bid exceeding \u00a360million just over a fortnight ago for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo<\/a>. At the time, it was thought that the offer would be enough for Brentford,<\/a> but negotiations remain ongoing.<\/p>\n United’s initial bid of \u00a355m did not tempt the Bees, who are said to be holding out for a figure closer to \u00a363m.<\/p>\n Goalkeeper claim<\/p>\n The Telegraph <\/a>report that goalkeeper Andre Onana has been ruled out of United’s pre-season tour with a hamstring injury. It is reported the Cameroonian sustained the blow in training at Carrington this week and could be sidelined for ‘six to eight weeks’ following an early assessment.<\/p>\n Amid this setback, United<\/a> must now decide if they will enter the transfer market for a first-choice goalkeeper. As reported by the Manchester Evening News<\/a> back in January, head coach Ruben Amorim wants to strengthen his goalkeeping department this summer.<\/p>\n Striker need<\/p>\n It iis understood that the Reds are still looking to sign a new striker after missing out on Liam Delap to Premier League<\/a> rivals Chelsea<\/a>.<\/p>\n Another No.9 heavily linked in Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres also looks set to join one of United’s top-flight rivals, with Arsenal said to be his preference. Hugo Ekitike, Ollie Watkins and Moise Kean have also been linked.<\/p>\n Several short-term options are also reportedly being considered, including free agents – Jamie Vardy, Callum Wilson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The Reds’ need for a reliable goalscoring striker is much-needed after netting just 44 times in the league last term.<\/p>\n Midfield interest<\/p>\n The Independent’s Miguel Delaney has claimed in his latest newsletter that United’s next priority will be a new central midfielder once a deal for Mbeumo is agreed.<\/p>\n “There’s been a lot of noise about Manchester United<\/a> and strikers but the feeling is that the next priority once Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is secured – it seems to get “closer” every day – is a central midfielder,” he said.<\/p>\n “There is interest in Sporting’s Martin Hjulmand, Bayern Munich’s Joao Palhinha and Palmeiras’ Richard Rios. As almost goes without saying, they of course need to sell first.<\/p>\n “Bayern may be in the same situation, however, which is what makes the Palhinha interest intriguing.
