Shocking images showed the aftermath after a staggering <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"rain delugeLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">rain deluge<\/a> in just one hour in the city of Tarazona, in the Zaragoza province. The banks of the Ebro River, which runs through the city, were put on a red alert yesterday, July 11.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">This alert is set to remain in place late into this evening after terrifying videos showed cars submerged in the murky rain waters that caused urban flooding in the holiday hotspot, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/world-news\/breaking-spain-hit-storm-hail-35546138\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"reports the Mirror.Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">reports the Mirror.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Outdoor chairs and tables at restaurants quickly ditched in the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"extreme weather Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">extreme weather <\/a>were also seen being battered by the rising water levels throughout the streets of Tarazona.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/0_spaindJPG.jpg\" alt=\"Flooding submerging a car in Tarazona\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Weather warning were issued in 25 regions of Spain(Image: X\/Top Disaster)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Local rescue teams scrambled to over 30 flood-related incidents in the past two days, which included blocked roads and fallen trees, but thankfully <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"no casualtiesLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">no casualties<\/a> have been reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Spain&#8217;s The Military Emergency Unit (UME) was also send to towns in the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Zaragoza regionLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Zaragoza region<\/a> to aid with the extreme weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Orange-level weather warnings, which alert locals about possible <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"severe stormsLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">severe storms<\/a>, were issued for eight places in Spain, many of which are havens for British tourists. These places include Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, Tarragona and Castell\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">These areas could be battered by storms and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"experience floodsLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">experience floods<\/a>, which could throw holidays plans into chaos for many of those travelling to Spain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"red weather warning Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">red weather warning <\/a>was even issued earlier today in Spain&#8217;s Catalonia region, but this threat has since decreased. AEMET predicted around 50 litres per square metre of rain could hit the neighbouring Aragon and Catalonia regions, in the north.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Other major areas, loved by British tourists, were also issued weather warnings, including Alicante and Valencia.
