We’re not far off. Everton begin their pre-season schedule in earnest this week as David Moyes<\/a> and his squad rampy up preparations for a historic campaign.<\/p>\n The Blues will start life at their new stadium on the Liverpool waterfront in the 2025-26 season. The first competitive match to be played there will be against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 24, nearly a week after their first fixture of the Premier League<\/a> season at Leeds United on August 18.<\/p>\n There is a busy schedule to get through before that, though. The squad will soon be replenished by the arrivals of Idrissa Gueye<\/a>, Iliman Ndiaye<\/a> and Jordan Pickford<\/a>, who were all given extra time off after international commitments at the end of last season.<\/p>\n After local matches in the north west against Accrington Stanley (Tuesday, July 15) and Blackburn Rovers (Saturday, July 19), preparations will intensify when the squad head to the United States.<\/p>\n Everton will play three matches across the Atlantic as part of the Premier League’s Summer Series.<\/p>\n The Blues will take on Bournemouth (July 26), West Ham United (July 30) and Manchester United (August 3) in New Jersey, Chicago and Atlanta respectively.<\/p>\n It will be the first time Everton have played in the United States in pre-season since 2022. The trip was a challenging one for Frank Lampard’s squad, as they suffered a 2-0 loss to Arsenal and then a humbling 4-0 defeat to Minnesota United.<\/p>\n When Everton return this year, many supporters will get their first taste of the new stadium when Roma rock up on August 9.<\/p>\n
