A motorcyclist was fighting for life in hospital today after a collision on the M60<\/a> motorway on Saturday. Greater Manchester Police<\/a> has issued an appeal and confirmed an investigation was now underway.<\/p>\n

The rider, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital with injuries<\/a> described by police as ‘life-threatening’.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to a section of the M60 between Bredbury, Stockport<\/a>, and Denton<\/a> shortly after 1.40pm, with an air ambulance also landing at the scene.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Sunday, GMP said: “We\u2019re appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision on the M60 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

“Shortly after 1.40pm on 12 July we were called to a report of a collision involving a motorbike on the anti-clockwise side of the motorway between junctions 25 and 24.<\/p>\n

“Patrols responded and a man in his 50s \u2013 believed to be the motorcyclist \u2013 was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

“His family have been informed.<\/p>\n

“Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit is conducting enquiries. So far, it isn\u2019t believed that any other vehicle was involved in this incident.<\/p>\n

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage to contact us.”<\/p>\n

Members of the public who stopped to give the man initial first aid have been thanked by police.<\/p>\n

Diversions were put in place and the motorway didn’t reopen until 11pm on Saturday night. No further details have been revealed.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information or footage should contact police on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 1903 of 12\/07\/2025. Details can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.<\/strong><\/p>\n
