Tennis fans will be spoiled once again, as Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner take centre stage at SW19 to battle it out for the title.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alcaraz<\/a> and Sinner stunned tennis fans around the world just one month ago, playing out one of the greatest Grand Slam finals in history at the French Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On that day, Alcaraz emerged as the victor, having saved three match points on his way to victory. He comes into Wimbledon<\/a> as the two-time defending champion but will have his work cut out against Sinner<\/a>, who has been ruthless on the grass surface so far.<\/p>\n

Aside from his fortunate outcome against an injured Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round, Sinner has looked at ease on grass, utilising the speed of the surface to great effect when hitting powerful groundstrokes.<\/p>\n

However, Alcaraz cannot be underestimated, as was demonstrated in the French Open final.<\/p>\n

Nick Kyrgios, who has been a regular punditry feature across the championships, has weighed in on Alcaraz and Sinner\u2019s chances ahead of the final on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Nick Kyrgios predicts Carlos Alcaraz will win Wimbledon for a third consecutive year<\/p>\n

Speaking on TNT Sports<\/a> ahead of Sunday\u2019s final, Kyrgios noted the insanity of Alcaraz and Sinner\u2019s ages when considering their achievements in tennis so far.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios knows about success at Wimbledon, having reached the final in 2022, before losing to Novak Djokovic in four sets.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI think it\u2019s going to be a battle for sure. I think they\u2019re both extremely comfortable on the grass now. I mean Sinner, pretty fortunate to get through that match against Dimitrov to be honest.<\/p>\n

\u201cDimitrov is one of these players, kind of like Dan (Evans) who\u2019s kind of cut from the old cloth, very good hands, slices, very comfortable on the grass. I\u2019m with Alcaraz in the final, I think he does pull through.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a battle. Insane that we forget how young these guys are. Alcaraz is going for his sixth Grand Slam at the age of 22 or something, which is ridiculous. It\u2019s already rivalling some of the greatest in our game.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he\u2019s able to stay out of Ibiza for the next couple of years, he could really start breaking some of these records.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carlos Alcaraz has won his last five matches against Jannik Sinner<\/p>\n

Jannik Sinner will have his work cut out against the five-time Grand Slam champion. The Italian has struggled to get the better of his great rival in recent history.<\/p>\n

Alcaraz, who has been told his top priority<\/a> ahead of Sunday\u2019s final, leads their head-to-head record by eight wins to four, winning their last five contests.<\/p>\n

Sinner will be looking to break this streak on Sunday, after a near two-year absence from tasting victory against the Spaniard. His last victory against Alcaraz came in Beijing in 2023.<\/p>\n

However, the grass is a surface that suits Sinner\u2019s game more than Alcaraz, due to the quicker speed and lower height of the ball upon bouncing off the surface.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, this factor may be nullified due to the baking heat at SW19, which may firm up the courts, allowing for a higher bounce which would suit Alcaraz.<\/p>\n
