An Edinburgh pensioner has died<\/a> near a busy Scots train station prompting cops to race to the scene.<\/p>\n The 78-year-old took unwell at a premises on Princes Street during the afternoon of Wednesday<\/a>, April 16. Emergency services rushed to the popular shopping<\/a> area in the capital at 3pm but sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n A Police Scotland spokesperson added: \u201cAround 3pm on Wednesday, 16 April, 2025, police received a report of a man becoming unwell at a premises on Princes Street, Edinburgh. Emergency services attended<\/a> and the man, aged 78, was pronounced dead at the scene.”<\/p>\n Police have confirmed they believe there to be no suspicious circumstances<\/a> surrounding the death. They added: “There are no suspicious<\/a> circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.\u201d<\/p>\n It comes as a pensioner tragically died in a horror<\/a> car smash while the driver fights for his life in hospital.<\/p>\n The incident involving a 76-year-old woman<\/a> and the 78-year-old driver took place on Corsebar Road in Paisley at around 12.30pm on Tuesday 15 April, and involved a silver Kia Ceed which veered off the road before smashing into a wall. Emergency services rushed to the scene where the 76-year-old woman<\/a>, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead. The driver of the car remains<\/a> in a critical condition in hospital. The road<\/a> was closed until around 6.25pm to allow cops to probe the scene and has since fully reopened.
