Manchester United’s<\/a> plans for the summer transfer are continuing as they look to add further new signings to their squad.<\/p>\n

Matheus Cunha<\/a> is the only new addition to Ruben Amorim’s squad at United so far this summer. Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> is also a target for United as they also look to target a striker before the transfer window closes on September 1.<\/p>\n

One area of the squad that may be in need of strengthening is the midfield, particularly following the departure of Christian Eriksen<\/a>. The Denmark international left United as a free agent after his contract expired at the end of June.<\/p>\n

United have been linked with signing a new midfielder this summer, and now a fresh rumour has emerged about a potential target.<\/p>\n

Caught Offside have reported that Bayern Munich star Joao Palhinha is now a player of interest to United this summer. The report claims that United will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the Portugal international.<\/p>\n

Palhinha joined Bayern in the summer of 2024 from Fulham in a deal reportedly worth \u20ac56million (\u00a348.4million). However, there are now suggestions that the midfielder could be on the way out of the Allianz Arena after just 12 months with the Bundesliga champions.<\/p>\n

United are mentioned in the report as having already made an approach to Bayern to enquire about the possibility of signing Palhinha. The midfielder is reported to be valued at around \u20ac35million (\u00a330.3million).<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if United will look to bring Palhinha to Old Trafford<\/a> this summer, or if they will target a player to fill the void left by Eriksen’s departure.<\/p>\n

United were linked with signing the midfielder last year before he joined Bayern and now reports suggests their interest has been reactivated.<\/p>\n
