He noted that while people are aware of the environment, they often choose \u201cescapism\u201d. \u201cIn earlier times, humans maintained a disciplined relationship with nature, that\u2019s why seasonal predictions were accurate. Now, that balance is lost,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"lazyloading\" decoding=\"async\" data-lazy-type=\"lazyloading-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/track_1x1.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/track_1x1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1px\" height=\"1px\" style=\"display:none;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Author Dave shared the motivation behind writing the book was a lack of meaningful international action on climate change and the fact that environmentalists are \u201csidelined\u201d in policy-making. \u201cClimate action cannot be individual,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cIt must be collective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below this ad<\/p>\n<p>Academician and economist Prof Rohitbhai Shukla, in his address, sharply criticized capitalism, terming it as a root cause of climate change. Referring to the recent bridge collapse in Vadodara and ongoing global conflicts, he said, \u201cCapitalism, by its nature, stands in conflict with the environment.\u201d He proposed integrating a \u201cTree Economy\u201d model as a solution that could simultaneously address ecological damage and unemployment.
