{"id":261787,"date":"2025-07-13T14:31:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T14:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/261787\/"},"modified":"2025-07-13T14:31:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T14:31:09","slug":"rosie-odonnell-dismisses-trumps-threat-to-revoke-her-us-citizenship-culture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/261787\/","title":{"rendered":"Rosie O\u2019Donnell dismisses Trump\u2019s threat to revoke her US citizenship | Culture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">Rosie O\u2019Donnell has shrugged off a threat from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/donaldtrump\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> to revoke her US citizenship on the grounds that she is \u201ca threat to humanity\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The New York-born actor and comedian said on Sunday that she was the latest in a long list of artists, activists and celebrities to be threatened by the US president.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">\u201cSo, I didn\u2019t take it personally, but I will tell you the way that he is has emboldened people like him,\u201d O\u2019Donnell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rte.ie\/entertainment\/2025\/0713\/1523271-rosie-odonnell-shrugs-off-trump-threat-on-rte-radio-1\/\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told RT\u00c9 Radio\u2019s Sunday with Miriam show<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">The Trump administration has sought to curb citizenship rights and questioned the citizenship of some critics, including Elon Musk, who was born in South Africa, as well as people like O\u2019Donnell who were born in the US.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-16w5gq9\">On Saturday, Trump posted on Truth Social: \u201cBecause of the fact that Rosie O\u2019Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.
