Punters have been removed from the ferris wheel at TRNSMT <\/a>after a blaze broke out on the ride’s generator.<\/p>\n

Firefighters were called to the blaze at the music festival at Glasgow Green<\/a> at around 10pm on Saturday, July 12.<\/p>\n

Crews attended and were able to quickly extinguish the flames before making the area <\/a>safe. Police, who were also called to the scene<\/a>, confirmed there were no injuries.<\/p>\n

Images showed revellers <\/a>being removed from the structure during the second day at the festival.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Police Scotland<\/a> said: \u201cA small fire to the generator for the ferris wheel was quickly extinguished by staff at Glasgow Green on Saturday, 12 July, 2025. People on the wheel were removed until Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and confirmed it safe.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were no reports <\/a>of any injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a total of 11 people have been arrested <\/a>during the music event since it kicked off on Friday.<\/p>\n

On Friday, seven people were arrested and charged following the event’s <\/a>opening night.<\/p>\n

The offences included police assault<\/a>, assault, hate crime and outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n

One man was charged <\/a>under suspicion of terror offences outside the festival.<\/p>\n

The man, 55, was arrested<\/a> for wearing a T-shirt allegedly showing support for the proscribed group Palestine Action.<\/p>\n

The activist had allegedly been leafleting near TRNSMT festival, in Glasgow<\/a>, when police charged him.<\/p>\n

He was also alleged<\/a> to be wearing a T-shirt from the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (SPSC) which read: \u201cGenocide in Palestine. Time to take action.\u201d Police are understood to have confiscated<\/a> the top.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, four people were arrested for crimes including breach of the peace, possession of a knife<\/a>, drugs offence and breaching curfew.<\/p>\n
