After being received by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theroyalobserver.com\/t\/prince-william\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince William<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theroyalobserver.com\/t\/kate-middleton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kate Middleton<\/a> at RAF Northolt, the Macrons were driven from West London to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theroyalobserver.com\/p\/british-royal-residences-buckingham-palace-windsor-castle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Windsor Castle<\/a> to meet the King and Queen. While speaking with the King, Macron reportedly made a jolly remark about William\u2019s height. Hickling claimed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/35753150\/lip-reader-macron-prince-william-king-charles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Sun<\/a>\u00a0that when chatting with the monarch, Macron reportedly quipped, &#8220;He [William] is incredibly tall.&#8221; To which Charles replied, &#8220;He is very tall. He\u2019s six feet one, he is, ever so.&#8221; After his father incorrectly guessed his height, the Prince of Wales chimed in, &#8220;Actually, I\u2019m six feet three.&#8221; Macron cheekily replied, &#8220;Unlike us, we\u2019re short.&#8221; While Macron stands at only 5&#8217;7, Charles stands at a handsome 5&#8217;10, the same as the Princess of Wales.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"figure-image\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/d3iil1tw1mksp7.cloudfront.net\/63c6a3a4-4cce-40cd-bc25-9a7ecb4cfeef.jpg\" alt=\"King Charles, Emmanuel Macron, Brigitte Macron, Queen Camilla, and Prince William on the Royal Dais at Datchet Road. Image Source: Getty Images | Chris Jackson<\/p>\n<p>While Macron was in a jaunty mood, his wife sang Middleton&#8217;s praises after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theroyalobserver.com\/p\/kate-middleton-shares-heartbreaking-cancer-update-after-missing-royal-ascot-i-can-crack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">her battle with cancer.<\/a> After Macron and Brigette got off the plane, he proceeded to kiss Middleton&#8217;s hand. Meanwhile, Brigette greeted the Princess with a customary French double-cheek air kiss. As per the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/2079068\/brigitte-macrons-touching-comment-princess-kate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Express<\/a>, their sweet exchanges were noted by lip reader Jeremy Freeman, who claimed that Macron said, &#8220;Thank you, thank you very much, thank you\u2026 It\u2019s good to see you.&#8221; Brigette then complimented Middleton, saying, &#8220;Oh, so good to see you, you look great.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After Macron finished chatting with Charles and Camilla, they travelled together through Windsor Castle in the 1902 State Landau. A ceremonial welcome was followed by an Inspection of the Guard of Honor. At the special evening state banquet, Macron sat between Charles and Middleton, raising a glass while sneaking in a friendly wink to the Princess, stirring global headlines. Macron&#8217;s ceremonial toast celebrated unity on pressing global issues, including migration, security, and climate. Image Source: Getty Images| Geoff Pugh &#8211; WPA Pool<\/p>\n<p>President Macron is the first European leader to attend a state visit to the U.K. since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theroyalobserver.com\/p\/stunning-moments-king-charles-coronation-photos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King Charles was crowned. <\/a>After a midday state lunch, Charles, Camilla, and Macron viewed a specially curated display of French-themed treasures, which highlighted objects with deep historical and cultural Franco\u2011British ties. As per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tyla.com\/news\/royal-family\/prince-william-state-banquet-king-charles-speech-586967-20250709\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tyla,<\/a> at the banquet dinner, King Charles praised the &#8216;truly modern partnership&#8217; between the U.K. and France, saying, &#8220;As we dine here in this ancient place, redolent with our shared history, allow me to propose a toast to France and our new Entente.
