{"id":262018,"date":"2025-07-13T16:34:12","date_gmt":"2025-07-13T16:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/262018\/"},"modified":"2025-07-13T16:34:12","modified_gmt":"2025-07-13T16:34:12","slug":"honda-update-on-joan-mir-who-bemoans-again-and-again-misfortune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/262018\/","title":{"rendered":"Honda update on Joan Mir who bemoans \u201cagain and again\u201d misfortune"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Honda has confirmed that Joan Mir escaped serious injury in the collision with Ai Ogura at the MotoGP German Grand Prix as he brands the clash \u201creally difficult to accept\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 German Grand Prix saw just 10 riders from the 18 starters make it to the finish, marking the first time this has happened <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/news\/1076947\/1\/crash-fest-2025-german-motogp-achieves-unusual-milestone-not-seen-2011\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">since the 2011 Australian Grand Prix<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Honda was on for a double top 10 for its factory team riders, with 2020 world champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911973\/joan-mir\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joan Mir<\/a> running ninth at the start of lap 22 of 30.<\/p>\n<p>But a crash for Trackhouse Aprilia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1043649\/ai-ogura\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ai Ogura<\/a> resulted in Mir being taken down by the Japanese rider\u2019s errant motorcycle.<\/p>\n<p>The incident was investigated by the FIM stewards, though they took no further action and spared Ogura a penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Mir was able to walk away from the crash, but did not do any media duties on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Honda update on Joan Mir condition    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/gng_1244853_hires.jpg\" alt=\"Joan Mir\" width=\"6029\" height=\"4019\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Joan Mir<\/p>\n<p>Honda has confirmed he was not seriously injured in the tangle, though he was despondent afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, I don\u2019t really know what to say,\u201d he said in a team statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were having a good race, riding within the limit of the tricky conditions we were experiencing out there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was doing my race, battling cleanly and was on course for a really good result.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was closing in on Binder and could see Miller dropping back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen I was hit by another rider, again.
