No, it is not the invention of a new position.<\/p>\n

Nor is it a groundbreaking passage of passing that could carve open a rival team like a hot knife through butter.<\/p>\n

Instead, it is simply booting the ball into touch from the kick-off.<\/p>\n

Each match at the Club World Cup, PSG <\/a>midfielder Vitinha has sent the ball flying over the sideline deep in the opposition’s defensive third.<\/p>\n

Granted, the Parisians are instantly coughing up possession.<\/p>\n

But it immediately gives PSG the chance to press their rivals deep in their own half in an attempt to force a turnover in a dangerous area.<\/p>\n

It is a ruthless and relentless approach that doesn’t give the opponent any time to breathe right from the get-go.<\/p>\n

Although they haven’t scored from the resulting throw-in, PSG’s bold approach has achieved results.<\/p>\n

Throughout their Club World Cup campaign, they have scored the opening goal inside the first 20 minutes on three separate occasions.<\/p>\n

Fabian Ruiz started the trend in the 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the group stages.<\/p>\n

PSG enjoyed even faster starts against Inter Miami and Real Madrid in their knockout clashes.<\/p>\n

Against the Major League Soccer outfit, Joao Neves put PSG ahead after just six minutes.<\/p>\n

The same amount of time had elapsed when Ruiz opened the scoring against Madrid in their semi-final, which ended in a 4-0 victory for the Parisians as they tore their rivals apart.<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite the usage of the strategy, Enrique could not take credit for devising it.<\/p>\n

Instead, he revealed it was a French rival who inspired him.<\/p>\n

“We copied it from Olympique Lyon,” Enrique said.<\/p>\n

Enrique also hinted it may not be long until PSG scrap the tactic.<\/p>\n

“At first, it worked well,” Enrique said.<\/p>\n

“But now teams are starting to figure it out.”<\/p>\n

Chelsea <\/a>boss Enzo Maresca will no doubt have his team on red alert for PSG’s scheme given they take on PSG in the Club World Cup final.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Blues’ bid to become two-time world champions takes place at MetLife Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.<\/p>\n
