Aston Villa look set to complete the signing of Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot after fending off a number of clubs for his signature.<\/p>\n
According to L’Equipe<\/a>, Villa have this afternoon sent a plane to collect Bizot who will jet to the UK to complete the formalities of the deal in the next 48 hours.<\/p>\n Leeds United, clubs in Saudi and teams in France had been on Bizot but Villa have won the race after opening talks with the French club this week.<\/a><\/p>\n The 34-year-old is expected to put pen to paper although the terms of his deal have yet to be finalised.<\/p>\n Bizot is expected to be back-up at Villa<\/a> with Emi Martinez widely expected to leave the club this summer with the Argentina international not short of suitors.<\/p>\n The departure of Bizot, who has one year remaining on his contract, will come as no surprise to Brest with the player having express a desire to leave the club since last summer.<\/a><\/p>\n But despite that request, Bizot was a hugely popular figure at the French club with his shirt being one of the highest in demand.<\/p>\n Bizot arrived at Brest in 2021 and has played 148 games for the club during which time he kept 40 clean sheets.<\/p>\n He played an integral role as the club reached the Champions League and produced an incredible performance against PSV last December.<\/p>\n What do you make of Villa’s move for Bizot?
