Prince George affectionately referred to his father Prince William using a charming, traditional nickname at Wimbledon<\/a> today (July 13), as a lip reader revealed.<\/p>\n

The youngster was with his dad in the royal box on Centre Court, where they watched defending champion Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> face off against Jannik Sinner<\/a>. Lip reader Jeremy discerned that George<\/a>, 11, asked his father: “Papa… is that where the players walk out down there?” In response, William<\/a>, 43, confirmed: “Yeah, it is yeah.”<\/p>\n

The children have previously called their father ‘Papa’, and a social media post for Father\u2019s Day in 2024 featured a photo of William hugging his offspring along with the caption: “We love you, Papa. Happy Father’s Day. G, C and L.”<\/p>\n

Earlier that afternoon, Jeremy also deciphered a conversation between George, his sister Princess Charlotte<\/a>, who’s 10, and men’s doubles champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool.<\/p>\n

Princess Kate<\/a>, 43, prompted a discussion by asking the British victors about the duration of their partnership, and then informing her children: “Wow, how about that? So, they only just started playing together ten months ago. And go on to win Wimbledon<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Charlotte expressed her amazement brightly saying: “Oh, wow.”<\/p>\n

George, in a more understated manner, commented: “Mmm nice, yeah.”<\/p>\n

Kate summed it up with: “Not bad is it.”<\/p>\n

Princess Charlotte’s passion for tennis is well-known, and royal commentator Ingrid Seward told The Sun<\/a>: “Charlotte has always loved tennis, and mum Kate took her to Hurlingham when she was quite young to play tennis there.<\/p>\n

“Tennis is a big family thing on both sides.”<\/p>\n

Her mother, Princess Kate, a keen tennis follower herself and the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, was spotted at Wimbledon<\/a> yesterday (July 12) for the women’s singles final showdown between Iga Swiatek<\/a> and Amanda Anisimova.<\/p>\n

The mum-of-three, who has bravely battled cancer and is now in remission, was honoured with a standing ovation.
