Two areas of Merseyside have been without power for several hours. At 11.37am, a post on Scottish Power\u2019s<\/a> website said several postcodes in Bromborough<\/a> and Spital<\/a> had been affected by the outage.<\/p>\n The company initially hoped to fix the problem by 3.52pm but now says power is expected to be restored by 10.30pm on Sunday. The initial message posted by ScottishPower and shared on a local Facebook<\/a> group said: \u201cThere is an unexpected power cut affecting the CH62 postcode of Wirral<\/a>. Our engineers are onsite to find and fix the fault.<\/p>\n \u201cIn most cases, our engineers can get your power back on by simply replacing a fuse at the local power station. However, if the fault is complex, this may take us longer to fix.<\/p>\n \u201cShould this happen, we\u2019ll keep you updated. We are aiming to have your power restored by 13\/07\/25, 3.52pm. We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.\u201d<\/p>\n As of 8pm tonight, the updated message on ScottishPower’s website says: \u201cWe are sorry for the continued disruption of supply in the CH62 area of Wirral.<\/p>\n \u201cOur engineers are making progress with the repairs of an underground cable fault and are still aiming to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 13\/07\/2025, 10.30pm.<\/p>\n \u201cIf this information changes, we will update you where possible. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.\u201d<\/p>\n The postcodes affected are CH62 2AF, CH62 2AN, CH62 2AQ, CH62 2AW, CH62 2BA, CH62 2BJ and CH62 2EW.<\/p>\n Local residents said a set of traffic lights had stopped working due to the outage. One said: \u201cThe traffic lights were out on Croft Avenue East, near Woodslee school, a little earlier.\u201d<\/p>\n Another said: \u201cTake care.
