Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol performs at the TRNSMT festival in Glasgow (Lesley Martin\/PA) <\/p>\nScotland\u2019s biggest music festival has come to an end as Snow Patrol performed the final act of the three-day event.<\/p>\n
The band received a warm welcome from thousands of fans at TRNSMT who braved a weekend of temperatures of up to 30C.<\/p>\n
Lead singer Gary Lightbody told the audience that Glasgow was a \u201cbig part of our life\u201d and a \u201cbig part of our story\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said playing in the city \u201calways feels like coming home\u201d as he played the band\u2019s hits, some of which were written in Scotland, and some newer tunes.<\/p>\n
Gracie Abrams, the second last act, shared her love for Glasgow during her set, which saw thousands singing along to some of her viral hits from the past few years.<\/p>\n \u201cMy name is Gracie Abrams and I\u2019ve missed you so much,\u201d she told a hyped crowd, some of whom had waited all weekend to see her.<\/p>\n \u201cWe love being in your city so much. All of these songs are love letters with you.<\/p>\n \u201cGlasgow I love you so much.\u201d<\/p>\n The singer said the response from the fans had given her \u201cchills\u201d.<\/p>\n Her song I Love You, Sorry got some of the biggest responses of the entire festival.<\/p>\n Abrams said her festival slot in Glasgow was her last one in Europe \u201cfor a long time\u201d, adding: \u201cI wanna say thank you for everything.<\/p>\n \u201cGetting to come and tour is one of the best experiences of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n Eleanora, 17, and her two friends came to Sunday\u2019s show to see Abrams.<\/p>\n She described TRNSMT as \u201cthe most amazing experience you\u2019ll ever have\u201d, while her friend Lauren Wilkie, 17, said it was \u201ca pure blast\u201d.<\/p>\n Niamh, 17, said: \u201cFontaines DC have been the best so far, I have to say.<\/p>\n \u201cJust the general atmosphere, it\u2019s so fun seeing people dressed up.<\/p>\n \u201cFontaines were actually insane. Our group was just jumping around getting pushed about but it was so good, we loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n Kira McCaffery, 20, said the atmosphere this weekend was \u201cabsolutely electric\u201d, adding: \u201cI have loved it this year. The sun has been splitting the sky.\u201d<\/p>\n Her friend, Mia Moohan, 22, said she was \u201cbuzzing\u201d to see Abrams.<\/p>\n She praised this year\u2019s line-up, saying there was \u201cmore going on\u201d for festival-goers.<\/p>\n Ms McCaffery said there was \u201csomething for everyone\u201d.<\/p>\n Friends Matthew Turner, 17, Mitchell Mure, 18, and Liam, 16, were less impressed with the line-up.<\/p>\n Asked if they were sad the festival was coming to an end, they all said: \u201cNot really, no.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy legs are sore,\u201d Liam said.<\/p>\n Mitchell added: \u201cIt was so much better last year.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked why, he pointed to the stage and said: \u201cLook at it.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cLast year we went for Calvin Harris and now it\u2019s Gracie Abrams. It\u2019s not as good as last year.\u201d<\/p>\n Amber Hannah, 19, said attending TRNSMT this year was her first ever festival.<\/p>\n She said the festival was \u201c10 out of 10\u201d and said 50 Cent was the best act, echoing the opinion of lots of fans the PA news agency spoke to.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was unreal,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cJust phenomenal. It was better than I thought it would have been. The atmosphere was good. I\u2019m here today to see Snow Patrol.
