One of the clubs in debt to Hull City has been revealed, with Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s Dejphon Chansiri reportedly owing the Tigers money.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hull City have undergone financial turmoil<\/a> in the summer, building up to the 2025\/26 Championship season.<\/p>\n

Despite suggesting at a fan conference that there were no financial concerns with the club, Hull City<\/a> have been hit with a transfer fee restriction that is set to last 18 months.<\/p>\n

Hull City owner Acun Ilicali is confident that their punishment can be reduced<\/a> this summer, although supporters are highly concerned that the club was able to miss payments on players.<\/p>\n

Ilicali said that the concerns stemmed from an \u2018administrative error\u2019 from the club, whilst also stating that he was owed money from other clubs.<\/p>\n

It has now been revealed that one of the clubs in debt to Acun Ilicali and Hull City is Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n

As reported by Alan Nixon<\/a>, Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s financial situation under Dejphon Chansiri has had a knock-on effect on Hull City, who are owed a \u2018minor transfer fee\u2019 from the Owls.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday are currently generating funds by selling players, with Djeidi Gassama set for a move to Rangers, whilst Anthony Musaba has left to join Turkish club Samsunspor. However, it would be safe to assume that, of all of Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s missed payments, a minor fee for Hull City is far down on their priority list.<\/p>\n

The most recent, and only player that Hull City have sold to Sheffield Wednesday during the Chansiri reign was Mallik Wilks, who joined the Owls in the 2022\/23 season. Wilks was sold early on in the Ilicali reign, with the former Barnsley man moving on just seven months after the club changed hands from the Allam family.<\/p>\n

It is far from ideal for Hull City to be owed payments from Sheffield Wednesday, as many clubs are, because of Dejphon Chansiri\u2019s dip in fortunes financially<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, the blame cannot be solely placed upon the shoulders of Mr Chansiri for Hull City\u2019s shortcomings.<\/p>\n

The fee owed to Hull City, if it is for the Wilks sale, will likely be fairly minimal and not enough to justify the mess that has accumulated under Acun Ilicali\u2019s stewardship.<\/p>\n
