Liverpool<\/a> have joined Premier League<\/a> rivals Arsenal<\/a> in the race to sign Real Madrid<\/a> winger Rodrygo, according to reports in Spain.<\/p>\n

Brazil international Rodrygo has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old has been a key player for Real Madrid over the past five seasons, making 270 appearances for Los Blancos and helping the club win three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues.<\/p>\n

Despite his influence in Madrid, Rodrygo has been linked with a summer move after his relationship with the club soured last season.<\/p>\n

Xabi Alonso\u2019s arrival at Real Madrid initially looked set to keep Rodrygo at the club<\/a> but the Brazilian was benched for five of Madrid\u2019s six matches at the Club World Cup.<\/p>\n

Reports in Spain say Real Madrid are open to selling Rodrygo, believing he has \u2018become more of a problem than a solution\u2019.<\/p>\n

Arsenal held talks over a move for the talented winger earlier in the summer<\/a> and could yet revive their interest.<\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta is set to welcome Noni Madueke to the Emirates Stadium in a \u00a355m deal from Chelsea<\/a> but the England international favours playing off the right.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Martinelli, often on Arsenal\u2019s left wing, has been linked with a summer move, with Bayern Munich registering an interest in Rodrygo\u2019s Brazil teammate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Arsenal are not looking to sell Martinelli but his exit could lead to a stunning bid for Rodrygo, one of the most highly-rated wingers in the world.<\/p>\n

According to AS<\/a>, Liverpool have also expressed interest in signing Rodrygo as they look for further attacking reinforcements for Arne Slot.<\/p>\n

The Premier League champions spent \u00a3115m on German playmaker Florian Wirtz but are open to bringing further forwards to Anfield, especially is Luis Diaz leaves.<\/p>\n

Barcelona have made Diaz one of their top summer transfer targets<\/a> along with Manchester United\u2019s Marcus Rashford and Athletic Bilbao\u2019s Nico Williams.<\/p>\n

Reports in Spain say that while Real Madrid are open to offers for Rodrygo, they want slapped an asking price of 100m euros (\u00a386m) on the Brazilian.<\/p>\n

Rodrygo was thought to be available at around \u00a367m but AS claim Madrid are now demanding more, knowing there is substantial interest in a player entering the peak years of his career.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the summer, ex-England defender Micah Richards said he \u2018really believes\u2019 Rodrygo could leave Real Madrid this summer<\/a> and insisted he would be a \u2018good fit\u2019 for Arsenal.<\/p>\n

\u2018Rodrygo said he didn\u2019t want to play on the right, didn\u2019t he? That\u2019s where the frustration is coming from,\u2019 the former Manchester City star said on The Rest Is Football<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

\u2018Everyone wants to play on the left, even though they\u2019re right-footed. I think he could leave in the summer, I really believe he could leave.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s a top player, a top player. He\u2019s been linked with Arsenal as well. \u2018I think Rodrygo would fit in really good in the Arsenal system, for sure.\u2019<\/p>\n
