The concerts proved to be an unprecedented global music event that brought 1.5 billion people together, and changed live music forever.<\/p>\n<p>Live Aid raised more than \u00a3114m for famine relief, and the show is partnering with the Band Aid Charitable Trust and donating 10% of all profits to the charity.<\/p>\n<p>The exhilarating new musical tells the story of Live Aid, and captures the excitement and history of that incredible day, featuring songs by Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, U2, Queen, Madonna, The Police, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and more of the iconic artists who made history at the simultaneous charitable concerts in London and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/195670\/shows\/just-for-one-day-tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Just For One Day \u2013 The Live Aid Musical<\/a> is now playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London, booking to 10 January 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Just For One Day \u2013 Live Aid Gala Performance<\/p>\n<p>Other celebrations for Live Aid today included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/298909\/news\/just-for-one-day-west-end-cast-to-celebrate-40th-anniversary-of-live-aid-on-greatest-hits-radio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greatest Hits Radio playing a 10 hour special playlist<\/a> hosted by Simon Mayo, featuring all of the original live performances from the Wembley Stadium concert in order, and with the West End cast of Just For One Day commentating and talking about their show.<\/p>\n<p>The BBC has also been airing documentary \u201cLive Aid at 40: When Rock \u2019n\u2019 Roll Took on the World\u201d \u2013 watch now on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/m002fp3s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">BBC iPlayer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can also watch highlights from the Live Aid concerts on BBC and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/m002fyyd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">BBC iPlayer<\/a> now.<\/p>\n<p>The talented cast of Just For One Day is led by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/195690\/star-watch\/craige-els\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Craige Els<\/a><\/strong> (Doctor Who, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westendtheatre.com\/13649\/shows\/matilda-the-musical\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matilda The Musical<\/a>) as Bob Geldof, with <strong>Tim Mahendran<\/strong> as Harvey Goldsmith; <strong>Rhianne-Louise McCaulsky<\/strong> as Amara; <strong>Julie Atherton<\/strong> as Margaret Thatcher; <strong>Ashley Samuels<\/strong> as Jim; <strong>Jake Small<\/strong> as John Kennedy; <strong>Tamara Tare<\/strong> as Alicia; <strong>Jason Battersby<\/strong> as David; <strong>Kelly Agbowu<\/strong> as Marsha; <strong>Jordan Cambridge-Taylor<\/strong> as Stevie; <strong>Eloise Davies<\/strong> as Maria; <strong>James Hameed<\/strong> as Khalil; <strong>Fayth Ifil<\/strong> as Jemma; <strong>Melissa Jacques<\/strong> as Suzanne; <strong>Hope Kenna<\/strong> as Young Suzanne; <strong>AJ Lewis<\/strong> as Kai; <strong>Freddie Love<\/strong> as Skye; <strong>Jack Michael Stacey<\/strong> as Tim; <strong>Emily Ooi<\/strong> as Ellie; and <strong>George Ure<\/strong> as Midge Ure.<\/p>\n<p>Off-stage swings are Kerry Enright (Bella); Evan Fox Harrison (Archie); Esme Laudat (Seraphina); Jaye Marshall (Rhianne \/ Dance Captain); Sadie-Jean Shirley (Willow \/ Assistant Dance Captain); Lukin Simmonds (Vill); and Dyd Wynford (Malcolm).
