I thought he was somebody that meant what he said, and he\u2019ll talk so beautifully and then he\u2019ll bomb people at night. All rights reserved)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will send them Patriots which they desperately need because Putin &#8230; really surprised a lot of people,\u201d Trump said. \u201cIt&#8217;s little bit of a problem there, I don&#8217;t like it,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also said the European Union would be purchasing the American-made weapons that will be ultimately delivered to Ukraine for use against Russia. He did not specify the number of Patriots bound for Kyiv but he specifically mentioned the famed American-made system, which he said Ukraine needs \u201cbecause they do need protection\u201d as Russia continues to attack civilian targets on a near-nightly basis.<\/p>\n<p>The president\u2019s pledge to send more weapons to Kyiv came days after he issued a none-too-veiled threat of action against Russia after <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/indy-web-prod.brightsites.co.uk\/news\/world\/europe\/ukraine-russia-war-live-trump-putin-warning-airstrikes-latest-b2786935.html\">Moscow\u2019s forces hit a Ukrainian maternity hospital<\/a> on Friday, injuring nine people, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/europe\/us-disappointed-russia-ukraine-war-kyiv-pounded-drones-b2786618.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fresh barrage of drones and missiles were launched <\/a>on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ukraine over the weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Over the weekend, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ukraine\u2019s<\/a> security agency announced that it had tracked down and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/ukraine-kyiv-donetsk-kherson-kursk-b2788079.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">killed Russian agents <\/a>who assassinated a Ukrainian intelligence officer.<\/p>\n<p>Trump told reporters before a trip to Texas to observe flood damage that they would \u201cbe seeing things happen\u201d with regard to Russia, less than a day after he told NBC News that he\u2019d be making a \u201cmajor announcementt\u201d on the status of the three-year-old Russia-Ukraine war this coming Monday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/2025-07-13T234608Z_1325831505_RC2ZLFA77VDR_RTRMADP_3_USA-TRUMP.jpeg\"  loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"U.S. President Donald Trump speaks with the media after attending the FIFA Club World Cup final upon his arrival at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, U.S, July 13, 2025.\" class=\"sc-1mc30lb-0 ggpMaE inline-gallery-btn\"\/><\/p>\n<p>open image in gallery<\/p>\n<p>U.S. President Donald Trump speaks with the media after attending the FIFA Club World Cup final upon his arrival at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, U.S, July 13, 2025. (REUTERS)<\/p>\n<p>Last week during a cabinet meeting, he praised Kyiv\u2019s armed forces for their bravery as they\u2019ve wielded their American-made equipment while battling back Russia\u2019s invasion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will say the Ukrainians were brave, but we gave them the best equipment ever made &#8230; we gave them missiles, the latest and the greatest.
