{"id":263906,"date":"2025-07-14T09:52:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-14T09:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/263906\/"},"modified":"2025-07-14T09:52:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T09:52:18","slug":"samsung-could-kill-its-plus-model-just-like-apple","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/263906\/","title":{"rendered":"Samsung Could Kill Its Plus Model, Just Like Apple"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Samsung may mirror Apple&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/roundup\/iphone-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iPhone 17<\/a> lineup model positioning by eliminating its own &#8220;plus&#8221; model next year, according to rumors coming out of Asia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/galaxy-s25-edge-colors.jpg\"   alt=\"galaxy s25 edge colors\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1001357\"\/>The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.<br \/>This year, Apple is expected to remove the &#8220;Plus&#8221; model from the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/guide\/iphone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iPhone<\/a> lineup due to low sales, replacing it with an all-new, super-thin &#8220;Air&#8221; model. As a result, the lineup will move from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/roundup\/iphone-16\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iPhone 16<\/a>, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max to the \u200ciPhone 17\u200c, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Samsung&#8217;s rival lineup consists of the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Edge, and S25 Ultra. According to the Weibo leaker known as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/weibo.com\/u\/5143897135\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instant Digital<\/a>,&#8221; Samsung could next year replace its plus model with the super-thin Edge, just like Apple. The new lineup would be formed of the Galaxy S26, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra.<\/p>\n<p>Both the S25+ and S25 Edge share a 6.7-inch display, Snapdragon 8 chip, 50-megapixel main camera, and more; there is significant overlap between the devices. Key differences include the Galaxy Edge&#8217;s move to titanium instead of aluminum, its lack of a telephoto camera, and its ultra-thin design. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Samsung beat Apple in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/05\/12\/samsung-galaxy-s25-edge-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">launching a super-thin smartphone<\/a>; the S25 Edge is just 5.8mm thick. Apple&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/roundup\/iphone-17-air\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iPhone 17 Air<\/a> could be even thinner at 5.5mm.
