Manchester United have become the latest Premier League club to visit the Anfield<\/a> memorial for Diogo Jota and Andre Silva to pay their respects. Jota and his brother Silva died in a car crash earlier this month as they were travelling across Spain to catch a ferry to the United Kingdom ahead of the start of Liverpool’s pre-season.<\/p>\n Anfield<\/a> has become a site of remembrance with thousands of tributes being laid outside the stadium by supporters, Reds<\/a> players and staff along with the general public.<\/p>\n And with Everton<\/a> having already paid their respects, on Monday afternoon it was the turn of Manchester United to do likewise.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Liverpool face new Premier League title intrigue as Chelsea concern grows<\/a>READ MORE: What Preston manager told Liverpool boss Arne Slot as ‘difficult’ admission made <\/a><\/p>\n Flowers were laid by United manager Ruben Amorim, captain Bruno Fernandes and defender Diogo Dalot, who are each compatriots of Portuguese duo Jota and Silva.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Jota’s former club Wolves have announced they are planning special tributes at their next two home games.<\/p>\n Similar to Anfield, the area outside Molineux has been transformed into a memorial to both Jota and his brother, although Wolves announced on Monday they will be clearing the area to preserve items given imminent poor weather<\/a> in the Midlands.<\/p>\n “All non-perishable items will be carefully stored and will be retained for potential inclusion in a more permanent memorial, which the club is now exploring as a lasting way to honour Diogo and Andre,” read a club statement.<\/p>\n “Floral tributes will also be gathered and will be turned into coloured ink, which can then be used as part of a bespoke artwork or tribute. Further details will be shared once plans are confirmed.<\/p>\n
