The funding is part of a wider commitment to boost local economies, improve public spaces, and attract investment.<\/p>\n<p>While Harrow wasn\u2019t among the boroughs selected, both <a href=\"https:\/\/harrowonline.org\/tag\/Hayes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hayes<\/a> in Hillingdon and West Ealing have been included.<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor said: \u201cI\u2018m determined to protect, restore and improve London\u2019s high streets \u2013 which is why I\u2019m so pleased to provide this new funding for boroughs across the capital that will help them grow and thrive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy High Street Place Labs programme plays an important role in driving progress on the London Growth Plan, which will deliver economic growth in every corner of our city to raise living standards, put more money in people\u2019s pockets and enable us to invest in our public services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The funding will help boroughs bring empty shops back into use, improve accessibility, grow the night-time economy, and create more affordable workspaces \u2014 particularly for key sectors like green industries and the creative sector.<\/p>\n<p>The 12 locations were selected following an open call to all London local authorities.
